Children of Dune is a 1976 science fiction novel by Frank Herbert, the third in his Dune series of six novels. It was originally serialized in Analog Science Fiction and Fact in 1976, and was the last Dune novel to be serialized before book publication.

Kyle MacLachlan is an American actor. He is best recognized for his work with American filmmaker David Lynch. The most widely known of these collaborations were MacLachlan's performances as Dale Cooper: first on the television series Twin Peaks in 1990 and 1991 and again in 2017, for which he was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Drama; he also portrayed Cooper in the program's theatrical film prequel Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992). Further collaborations include his portrayals for Lynch of Paul Atreides in Dune (1984) and Jeffrey Beaumont in Blue Velvet (1986). A longtime collaborator of filmmaker David Lynch, Nance portrayed the lead in Lynch's directorial debut Eraserhead (1977). Madeleine "Maddy" Ferguson is a fictional character in the Twin Peaks franchise. She was created by the series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost and portrayed by Sheryl Lee. Introduced in the fourth episode of the first season, Maddy is the older cousin of Laura Palmer who comes to Twin Peaks to help her aunt and uncle cope with the death of their daughter. Over the course of the series, Maddy forms a close friendship with Donna Hayward and James Hurley, Laura's closest friends, and assists them in their investigation into her death. Originally, she was not intended to be a part of the series but was created by David Lynch so that Lee could have a larger role in the series.

In 2017, Robie reprised her role as Nadine in David Lynch's revival series Twin Peaks: The Return.
