Evis Kushi (born 7 October 1975) is an Albanian politician. She is serving as 52nd Minister of Education,Sports and Youth since September 2020. [1]
Evis Kushi was born on 7 October 1975 in Elbasan,Albania. She started her career in 1998 at the University "Aleksander Xhuvani" Elbasan about Basics of Marketing and Econometrics [2] (1998-2012). Between 2010 and 2012,Kushi held the position of Head of the Department "Economy and Law",Faculty of Economics,"Aleksander Xhuvani" University,Elbasan. In 2012-2013 she served as Dean of the Faculty of Economics at the university. [3]
From 2013 onwards,Kushi is a member of the Elbasan Region in the Albanian Parliament,and has been part of Committee on Economy and Finance. In terms of social and political activities,Evis Kushi has been a member of the Socialist Party since March 2013 and a member of the Presidency of Socialist Party since April 2016. She is fluent in English,Italian and French. [4] Following the departure of former Minister of Education Besa Shahini, [5] Evis was appointed as the new Minister and has held this post since Rama II Cabinet on 14 September 2020 until now. [6]
She is married and has two daughters,Ana and Luna. [7]
Edi Rama is an Albanian politician,painter,writer,former university lecturer,publicist and former basketball player,who has served as the 33rd and current Prime Minister of Albania since 2013 and chairman of the Socialist Party of Albania since 2005. Prior to his tenure as Prime Minister,Rama held a number of positions. He was appointed Minister of Culture,Youth and Sports in 1998,an office he held until 2000. First elected mayor of Tirana in 2000,he was reelected in 2003 and 2007.

Aleksandër Xhuvani was an Albanian philologist and educator. Xhuvani spent much of his career working for the improvement of Albanian schools;he also advocated the standardization of the Albanian language in the years following Albania's independence. Among his writings are grammars in Albanian,as well as a dictionary of the language. Xhuvani also served as a politician,sitting in both the Constituent Assembly of the Albanian Kingdom and as a member of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania. In the latter he served as vice-president of the Presidium towards the end of his life.

The Qafa e Vishës bus accident occurred on 21 May 2012,at Qafa e Vishës near Himarë,Albania,when a bus plunged 80 metres (260 ft) off a cliff. Most of the victims were students of Aleksandër Xhuvani University of Elbasan. The driver is also believed to have been killed. The students were travelling from Elbasan to Sarandë.
