The Ministry of Education and Sports (Albanian : Ministria e Arsimit dhe Sportit) is a department of the Albanian Government responsible for Education and Sport. The current minister is Evis Kushi. [1]
Since the establishment of the institution, the Ministry of Education has been reorganized by joining other departments or merging with other ministries, thus making its name change several times. This list reflects the changes made in years in pluralist history since 1992 as an institution:

An education minister is a position in the governments of some countries responsible for dealing with educational matters. Where known, the government department, ministry, or agency that develops policy and delivers services relating to sports are listed; overseen by and responsible to the education minister. The first such ministry ever is considered to be the Commission of National Education founded in 1773 in the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth.

On 6 August 2014 its licence was permanently revoked by the Albanian Ministry of Education and Sports (MAS), through decision no. 539 of the Albanian Council of Ministers, for not fulfilling the minimum legal requirements of higher education. The Albanian state authorities often compared the closed HEIs to Ponzi schemes, which have caused "extraordinary financial damage" to Albanian students and their parents.
