Exhibit B: The Human Condition is the tenth studio album by American thrash metal band Exodus. The album picks up after The Atrocity Exhibition... Exhibit A , continuing with long, epic songs (averaging around 6 minutes) with darker themes centered on war, death, society, politics and religion. It was released on May 7, 2010 in Europe and was released on May 18, 2010 in the United States. It debuted at number 114 on the Billboard 200. [2] Additionally, Exhibit B was Exodus' first studio album since 1989's Fabulous Disaster not to feature a lineup change from the preceding album. It sold around 4,600 copies in its first week of release in the U.S. [3] Exhibit B is Exodus' last album with vocalist Rob Dukes, who was fired in June 2014, [4] although he was still part of the band when the songwriting sessions for Blood In, Blood Out began. Dukes would return to the band in 2025.

Guitarist Gary Holt commented on the bands intentions for the album's cover:

"We wanted to portray the violence of man at its finest, so we started with our own version of the Leonardo da Vinci sketch of Vitruvian Man, but done the 'EXODUS' way! I was pointed in the direction of Colin Larks of Rainsong Design for the cover and he killed it! To me, the artwork represents man and his affinity for bloodshed, ignorance, and all-around ability to be led like sheep to the slaughter. The image fits the songs on this record perfectly. The whole layout is going to be as sick as the record itself!" [1] [ dead link ‍]

Lyrical themes

The album displays a variety of lyrical themes, but is almost entirely focused on dark and depressing topics.[ original research? ] Government is a recurring theme with "Downfall" describing the fall of major world governments through war and recession, [5] and "March of the Sycophants" describing the hypocrisy of Christian conservatives. [6] Some songs focus on tragic events such as the Nanking Massacre in "Nanking" [6] and the killings carried out by Leonard Lake and Charles Ng in "The Ballad of Leonard and Charles". [5]

Exhibit B: The Human Condition received positive reviews. Greg Prato from Allmusic said: "You can always count on Exodus to supply some good, old-fashioned, downright vicious thrash metal with each release. And the lads deliver once more on their 2010 offering, Exhibit B: The Human Condition (impressively, their fourth album over a six-year period -- 2004-2010), further describing it by saying - with the intensity not dipping one iota from beginning to end, and - Even with the tunes that momentarily take a breather ('Democide,' 'A Perpetual State of Indifference,' etc.), it's only a matter of time until Exodus rams down the gas pedal once again and returns to their chug-a-lug riffery. Exodus has always liked it fast and furious, and they certainly don't disappoint with Exhibit B: The Human Condition."

There are no original members left in Exodus other than Hunting, who has departed from the band twice, in 1989 and 2004, but rejoined in 2007. Exodus is also notable for featuring a then-unknown Kirk Hammett, who was the band's lead guitarist from its inception until his departure in 1983, when he left to join fellow Bay Area thrash metal band Metallica as Dave Mustaine's replacement. Holt has been most consistent member throughout various lineup changes and breakups, and is the only member to appear on all of Exodus' recordings. He also sings for the thrash metal band Tenet and was the lead singer for the thrash metal band Legacy. In 2011, Souza announced his new project, Hatriot. He stepped down as the frontman of the band in 2015, leaving the role of lead vocals to his son, Cody.

It was the last appearance of longtime vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza until his return for 2014's Blood In, Blood Out as well as the last appearance of founding drummer Tom Hunting until 2007's The Atrocity Exhibition... Exhibit A. The album was also the last studio appearance of guitarist Rick Hunolt until the band's 2021 album Persona Non Grata, where he made a guest appearance.

The track "Hell's Breath" originally appears on the "1983 Rehearsal" with Kirk Hammett and never was recorded officially.

Due to creative differences, Inzerra left and Jim DeMaria joined. This lineup recorded their sophomore album, We're All Gonna Die, with producer Zeuss.

Blood In, Blood Out is the eleventh studio album by American thrash metal band Exodus. It was released on October 14, 2014 through Nuclear Blast, and is the band's first album with vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza since 2004's Tempo of the Damned. The album also saw a reunion with original guitarist Kirk Hammett, who plays the guitar solo on "Salt the Wound". Blood In, Blood Out received generally favorable critical reviews, and it entered the Billboard 200 at number 38—the band's highest U.S. chart position to date. Exodus promoted the album with its first concert tour with Souza since he left the band in 2004, due to a feud with guitarist Gary Holt. This is also the only studio album the band released whilst Holt did double duties with Exodus and Slayer, the latter of where Holt had filled in for the late Jeff Hanneman until their disbandment in 2019.
