Eyedollartree is the second album by the rap duo Blood of Abraham. [4] It was released in 2000 via Atomic Pop and MasterGrip. [5] The album was rereleased in 2005. [6]

Contents

The album was accompanied by a DVD of a short film directed by the duo and Brian Beletic. [7]

Production

The album was produced by Blood of Abraham, will.i.am, Motiv8, and Cyrus Melchor. [8] Kool Keith, Divine Styler, and will.i.am made guest appearances on some of the tracks. [6]

Critical reception

The A.V. Club called the album "superb," writing that it "surveys a bleak world riddled with disease, warped values, corruption, and constant surveillance, but not without a sturdy sense of humor and a winning pop-art playfulness." [9] LA Weekly deemed it "a mixture of trippy, band-oriented backpack hip-hop with a few guitar-rock tunes thrown in, and at least three or four solid singles." [10]

EPMD

EPMD is an American hip hop duo from Brentwood, New York. The duo's name is a concatenation of the members' names "E" and "PMD" or an acronym for "Erick and Parrish Making Dollars", referencing its members: emcees Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith. During an interview on college radio station WHOV in 1987, Parrish Smith stated that the name evolved from the original: "We were originally known as "EEPMD", but chose to go with EPMD because it was easier to say." He also stated that they dropped the two "E's" because N.W.A.'s Eric Wright was already using "Eazy-E" as his stage name. The group has been active for 35 years, and is one of the most prominent acts in east coast hip hop. The word "business" is used in every title of the group's albums. Every album also has a track with "Jane" in the title.

Hip hop soul is a subgenre of contemporary R&B music, most popular during the early and mid 1990s, which fuses R&B, gospel or soul singing with hip hop musical production. The subgenre had evolved from a previous R&B subgenre, new jack swing, which had incorporated hip-hop influences into R&B music. By contrast, hip hop soul is, as described in The Encyclopedia of African American Music, "quite literally soul singing over hip hop grooves".

Pimp to Eat is the only studio album by American hip hop supergroup Analog Brothers, which consists of Ice-T as Ice Oscillator, Kool Keith as Keith Korg, Pimpin' Rex as Rex Roland JX3P, Marc Live as Marc Moog, and Black Silver as Silver Synth. Fondle 'Em Records was a hip hop record label founded and owned by Robert "Bobbito" Garcia from 1995 to 2001, based in New York, New York. Bobbito formed the label after realizing that the many unsigned rappers making guest appearances on The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show, a program Bobbito co-hosted with DJ Stretch Armstrong on Columbia University radio station WKCR 89.9 FM, didn't have a proper outlet for their talents.
