F.I.R. is an Indian cop-based television sitcom that aired from 31 July 2006 to 23 January 2015, on SAB TV. The show was produced by Edit 2 Productions. [1]

Plot

F.I.R. is an acronym for First information report that the Indian police prepares for each case to be investigated. [2]

F.I.R. is a situational comedy serial centered on a Haryanvi female police officer named Chandramukhi Chautala and her three subordinates, Head Constable Gopinath Gandothra, Constable Mulayam Singh Gulgule and Constable Billu, who later joined the Chowki. The show depicted their lives as they try to solve every case which comes to their police station Imaan Chowki, Ravanpur. New cases come to the police station in every episode. An individual or a group comes with a complaint or a problem. Chandramukhi Chautala and her constables solve their case successfully. [3]

The show also had some love angles of Chandramukhi Chautala with the Chief Inspectors (with one at a time) of Imaan Chowki. First was Hanuman Prasad Pandey which was one-sided by Chandramukhi, second was Raj Aaryan which was one-sided by Raj, and the third was Bajrang Pandey, both he and Chandramukhi love each other but Bajrang fears to admit his love. The show took a 20-year leap on 16 March 2013 when Kavita Kaushik who played the lead role of Chandramukhi Chautala, departed from the show and Chitrashi Rawat was introduced as Jwalamukhi Chautala, Chandramukhi's daughter, who reveals that Chandramukhi married Hanuman Prasad Pandey. This 20-year-leap story wasn't much praised so the changes of 20-year leap were reverted on 8 July 2013 and the incidents which occurred in the 20-year leap were converted into constable Gopi's dream and the show then continued along with Chandramukhi Chautala's return. [7] [38]

In 2014 a live audience format was introduced for few episodes where the actors would perform on stage in front of live audience. [39]

Crossover and spin-off

Gopi Bhalla and Kiku Sharda as Gopinath Gandotra and Mulayam Singh Gulgule guest starred in another SAB TV sitcom Chidiya Ghar in 2012. [40]

Gopinath Gandotra was also part of a spin-off show Gopi Gadha Aur Gupshup which aired in 2012. [41]

In March 2022, Kaushik appeared as a guest in Maddam Sir , reprising the role of Chandramukhi Chautala. [42]

<i>Chidiya Ghar</i> Television series

Chidiya Ghar is a sitcom which aired on Sony SAB from 28 November 2011 to 2 October 2017. The series was produced by Ashwni Dhir under the banner of Garima Productions. The show gets its name "Chidiya Ghar" because Chidiya Ghar means "zoo" in Hindi as all the characters in this show have animal names of the hindi language.

Samrat & Co. is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language detective thriller film directed by Kaushik Ghatak and produced by Kavita K. Barjatya under the banner of Rajshri Productions. It features Rajeev Khandelwal in the title role of Samrat. The film was initially scheduled for release on 1 May 2014 release but was released ahead of schedule on 25 April 2014.

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8 also known as Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded is the eighth season of the dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. It premiered on 11 July 2015 on Colors. The series is hosted by Manish Paul yet again. Karan Johar, Shahid Kapoor, and Ganesh Hegde and Lauren Gottlieb judged the series. Malaika Arora replaced Johar later. The finale took place on 10 October 2015 declaring Faisal Khan and Vaishnavi as the winners while popular actress Sanaya Irani and Jai was the first runners-up.

The series was produced by Optimystix Entertainment owned by Vipul D Shah and it is aired on weekdays. The show was the second season of its previous show Dr. Bhanumati On Duty. The show was re launched as Kavita Kaushik announced on social media that she will be leaving the show, the show went off air. From 1 August, the show was relaunched as Dr. Madhumati On Duty. Kaushik left the show due to her character not developing, and the show being very similar to her previous show, F.I.R., and most dialogues were copied. She got replaced by Debina Bonnerjee.

<i>Abar Kanchanjungha</i> 2022 Indian film

Abar Kanchanjungha is a 2022 Indian Bengali-language family drama film directed by Raajhorshee De. The screenplay was written by Padmanabha Dasgupta and Raajhorshee De. The film features an ensemble cast including Anindya Chatterjee, Rupankar Bagchi, Rahul Banerjee, Gaurav Chakrabarty, Bidipta Chakraborty, Tanushree Chakraborty, Arpita Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee, Padmanabha Dasgupta, Devlina Kumar, and Kaushik Sen. The film was produced by Akshatt K Pandey, and Shilpi A Pandey. It was released theatrically on 1 April 2022 and digitally on 26 May 2023 on ZEE5.
