FC Barcelona Voleibol also known as FCB Voleibol is a Spanish men's volleyball club from Barcelona and currently plays in the Spanish Superliga.

History

The club was founded in 1970. It has since become one of the most successful volleyball teams in Spain. The team plays in the Spanish Superliga, which is the top professional volleyball league in Spain. The team is known for its aggressive style of play, with a focus on strong serving and attacking. Over the years, FC Barcelona has won many titles, including the Spanish 2nd superliga. The team has also represented Spain in international competitions, including the FIVB Club World Championship and CEV Champions League.

The Joan Gamper Trophy or Joan Gamper Cup is an annual association football exhibition match held in August, before the start of Barcelona's La Liga season, where top division clubs from the world compete against them. The competition is hosted by FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou stadium and is named in honour of Joan Gamper, a founding member, player, and later president of the club. The competition was inaugurated in 1966 by Enric Llaudet, one of Gamper's successors as club president. The trophy itself is an 800-gram (1.8 lb) silver cup with five micrometres of gold finishing, on top of a 10-kilogram (22 lb) marble plinth base.

In 2009–10, FC Barcelona started the new season with the prospect of winning six major competitions in the 2008–2009 season. They contested for the Supercopa de España, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Copa del Rey, La Liga, and the UEFA Champions League. During the summer transfer window, the club swapped their top league goal scorer during the treble season, Samuel Eto'o to Italy's Inter Milan in exchange for Zlatan Ibrahimović, along with €48 million, bringing the total to €69 million. On 16 May, Barcelona claimed its 20th league title with a then-record 99 points via a 4–0 victory over relegated side Valladolid to finish their 2009–10 season with four titles.
