The 1952 Winter Olympics, officially known as the VI Olympic Winter Games, was a winter multi-sport event held from 14 to 25 February 1952 in Oslo, the capital of Norway.
The WTA Finals is a tournament of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) played annually at the end of the season for the top-ranked professional players. The rules have changed many times as technology has developed, the most notable being the inclusion of digital downloads in 2005 and streaming in July 2014.

Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. The top skaters from the series met at the Junior Grand Prix Final.

The Königssee bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track is a venue in Germany for bobsleigh, luge and skeleton, located in Schönau am Königsee, Bavaria, near Königssee and the border with Austria. Completed 53 years ago in 1968, it is the first permanent, artificially refrigerated bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track in the world.
The Olympic Sliding Centre Innsbruck is a venue for bobsleigh, luge and skeleton located in Igls, Austria. The most recent version of the track was completed in 1975 and is the first permanent, combination artificially refrigerated bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track, serving as a model for other tracks of its kind worldwide. It hosted the bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton competitions for the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics.

Olympiapark was part of Munich's bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics.
Germany competed at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7 September to 18 September 2016. The first places the team qualified were for four athletes in sailing events. They also qualified athletes in archery, cycling, equestrian, paracanoeing, paratriathlon, rowing and wheelchair basketball.
