The Women's team sprint at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 was held on 2 March 2011. Sprint qualifying at 12:00 CET with finals at 14:15 CET. The defending world champions were Finland's Virpi Kuitunen and Aino-Kaisa Saarinen while the defending Olympic champions were Germany's Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle and Claudia Nystad. [1] [2] Kuitunen retired after the 2009-10 season.

Cross-country skiing was one of the three disciplines of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2007, held between February 22 and March 4, 2007 in Sapporo, Japan. The sprint events were held at the Sapporo Dome and the distance races were held at the Shirahatayama Open Stadium.

The defending world champions were the Finnish team of Pirjo Muranen, Virpi Kuitunen, Riitta-Liisa Roponen and Aino-Kaisa Saarinen while the defending Olympic champions were the Norwegian team of Vibeke Skofterud, Therese Johaug, Kristin Størmer Steira and Marit Bjørgen. Kuitunen retired after the 2009-10 season.

The Men's Team large hill/4 x 5 km at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 was held on 4 March 2011. The men's sprint cross-country skiing competition at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 was held on 24 February 2009. The Sprint qualifying began at 11:35 CET with finals at 13:30 CET. The defending world champion was Norway's Jens Arne Svartedal, but he was eliminated in the quarterfinals at these championships. It was the first individual medal for all three finishers.

The Men's team sprint took place on 25 February 2009. Team sprint qualifying at 11:00 CET and finals at 13:00 CET. The defending world champions were Italy's Renato Pasini and Cristian Zorzi.

The Women's team sprint took place on 25 February 2009. Team sprint qualifying at 11:00 CET and finals at 13:00 CET. The defending world champions were Finland's Riitta-Liisa Roponen and Virpi Kuitunen. Kuitunen defended her title with Aino-Kaisa Saarinen. The Finns led at every exchange until the last rounds at the finish to win by 20 seconds. This event was Saarinen's third medal at these championships. Anna Olsson earned her first championship medal while Andersson, Longa and Follis earned their second medals at these championships.

The women's sprint cross-country skiing competition at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 was held on 24 February 2009. The Sprint qualifying began at 11:35 CET with finals at 13:30 CET. The defending world champion was Norway's Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen, but she was eliminated in the qualification round at these championships. It was the first individual gold medal for Arianna Follis.

The Women's 4 × 5 kilometre relay at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 was held on 26 February 2009 at 13:00 CET. The defending world champions were the Finnish team of Virpi Kuitunen, Aino-Kaisa Saarinen, Riitta-Liisa Roponen and Pirjo Manninen.

The men's team sprint took place on 23 February 2007. Team sprint qualifying at 16:20 CET and finals at 17:20 CET. The defending world champions were Norway's Tore Ruud Hofstad and Tor Arne Hetland.
