Arianna Fernanda Follis (born 11 November 1977, in Ivrea) is an Italian cross-country skier.
Born in Ivrea, Piedmont, but originally from Gressoney-Saint-Jean, Aosta Valley, where she was raised, Follis started competing in 1995. Competing in two Winter Olympics, she earned a bronze medal in the 4 × 5 km relay at Turin in 2006. [1]
Follis earned five medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships with a gold (Individual sprint: 2009), one silver (Individual sprint: 2011) and three bronzes (10 km: 2007, Team sprint: 2009, 4 × 5 km relay: 2005). She has six individual victories at various levels up to 10 km since 1998.
She retired from cross-country skiing after the 2010–2011 season. [2]

Tobias Angerer is a German cross-country skier, and skis with the SC Vachendorf club. He graduated from the Skigymnasium Berchtesgaden in 1996. His occupation is "Sports Soldier". Angerer has been competing since 1996.
Natascia Leonardi Cortesi is a Swiss cross-country skier and ski mountaineer who has competed since 1988 in the World Cup circuit. She won a bronze medal in the 4 × 5 km relay at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and had her best individual finish with a tenth place in the 30 km event at those same games. This was the first olympic medal ever for a Swiss woman cross-country team. Leonardi Cortesi's best score at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships was a fifth place in the 4 × 5 km relay in 1999.
Sabina Valbusa is an Italian cross-country skier who competed from 1993 to 2010.
Aino-Kaisa Saarinen is a retired Finnish cross-country skier who competed in the World Cup between 1998 and 2018. With 354 individual World Cup starts, Saarinen is the current record holder for both men and women, with Stefanie Böhler in second place with 343.
Virpi Katriina Sarasvuo is a Finnish former cross-country skier who competed from 1995 to 2010. She won a bronze medal in the team sprint event at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin and earned her best individual finish of fifth in the individual sprint event in those same games. Four years later in Vancouver, Kuitunen won another bronze, this time in the 4 × 5 km relay.
Aristide Compagnoni was an Italian cross-country skier who competed in the 1930s.
Alberto Jammaron was an Italian cross-country skier who competed in the 1930s. From 1945 to 1947 he was also president of the Sci Club La Thuile-Rutor.
Petra Majdič is a Slovenian former cross-country skier. Her best results came in classic style races. She won twenty-four World Cup races, twenty in sprint races, but she also won a marathon in Trondheim in 2009. She is the first Slovenian cross-country skier to win a World Cup race, the first to get a medal at the World Championships and the first to get an Olympic medal. With 20 wins, Majdič is the second-most successful sprinter in FIS Cross-Country World Cup history and with 24 wins in total she's the fourth-most successful World Cup competitor of all time.
Renato Pasini is an Italian former cross-country skier who began competing in 1996. He won the gold medal in the team sprint at the 2007 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo. Pasini also has seven individual victories at various levels all in sprint since 2002.
Marianna Longa is an Italian cross-country skier from Livigno. She started her professional career in 1997, and her first appearance in a world cup race was on 17 March 2000 in Bormio. Longa is currently part of the Fiamme Gialle, and the Italian cross-country national team. Longa is also a strong runner. She retired from cross-country skiing after the 2010–11 season.
Magda Genuin is an Italian cross-country skier who competed from 1997 to 2011.
Maria Canins is an Italian racing cyclist who twice won the Tour de France Féminin in 1985 and 1986, as well as winning the inaugural Giro d'Italia Femminile in 1988. She rode for Italy at the 1984 and 1988 Summer Olympics.
At the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec, Czech Republic, twelve cross-country skiing events were held with six for men and six for women. The format of the program was unchanged since the 2005 World Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany. For the men's events, Norway won five of the six events and a total of six medals with Petter Northug winning golds in the pursuit, 50 km and relay events. Ola Vigen Hattestad won two golds in the sprint events. The only event the Norwegians did not win was in the 15 km event, won by Estonia's Andrus Veerpalu, who became the oldest world champion ever.
