FabJob is a book publisher based in Calgary, Canada, and Seattle, United States. It was founded in 1999 by sisters Tag and Catherine Goulet.

History

The company's guide books initially began as electronic titles in e-Book and CD-ROM formats. Since then, a number of their titles have been published in print, though the majority of their books remain available as PDF e-Books. FabJob guides range from 240 to 360 pages of searchable information about how to get started in a specific dream career. Each guide includes information about how to do the job, how to get experience, how to get hired, how to start a business, how to set your fees or prices, and how to get clients or customers. [1]

Each book contains advice and information from individuals in a particular field, such as athletes, actors, authors and business people. [2]

FabJob has been named the number one place to get published online by Writer's Digest and has received an EPPIE Award for excellence in electronic publishing. [4] [5]

FabJob has received press coverage from Woman's Day Magazine and Entrepreneur.com amongst other titles, and the company has been profiled by CityTV in Toronto. [6] [7] [8] Founders Tag Goulet and Catherine Goulet have also written for Metro News and The Calgary Sun about careers topics on behalf of the company. [9] [10]

The FabJob book Dream Careers by Tag and Catherine Goulet ranked #1 in career and business books on Amazon when it was released. [11]

FabJob was featured in the 2005 movie Bewitched starring Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell. The set decorating coordinator for the movie contacted FabJob to provide some print books, including a fake one called "The FabJob Guide to Becoming a Witch or Warlock", and large cardboard book displays. These props were subsequently used in a scene where main character Samantha Stephens was looking for inspiration in a bookstore to guide her towards a new career. [12]

David Alderton is an English writer specialising in pets and natural history topics. Growing up in a home surrounded by pets, he originally trained to become a veterinary surgeon. An allergic dermatitis acquired in his final year of study forced a change of career however, and so led him into the field of writing about pets and their care. He has since become a regular contributor of articles on this subject to a wide range of newspapers and magazines in the UK and abroad, and also participates frequently in radio and television programmes. As of 2010 his books have sold over five million copies, and have been translated into 30 different languages. Tag Goulet, also known as Theresa Goulet or Therese Goulet, is an author, publishing entrepreneur, and film producer from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Alongside her sister Catherine, she is co-founder of FabJob, a company that publishes career books from their offices in Calgary and Seattle.

Catherine Goulet is an author, publishing entrepreneur, and careers expert from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She is co-founder of the Next Generation Indie Book Awards, a literary awards program for independently-published books, co-founder of career guides publisher FabJob alongside her sister Tag and founder of zenGOT, a platform which connects customers and service providers.

<i>Time to Get Tough</i> 2011 book by Donald Trump

Time to Get Tough: Making America #1 Again is a non-fiction book by Donald Trump. It was published in hardcover format by Regnery Publishing in 2011, and reissued under the title Time to Get Tough: Make America Great Again! in 2015 to match Trump's 2016 election campaign slogan. Trump had previously published The America We Deserve (2000) as preparation for his attempt to run in the 2000 U.S. presidential campaign with a populist platform. Time to Get Tough in contrast served as his prelude to the 2012 U.S. presidential campaign, with a conservative platform.

Mary-Scott Welch was an American writer and magazine editor. She worked as a writer for various magazines, specializing in articles about domestic and women's issues, and was an editor for Pageant and Look magazines and editor in chief for Homemaker's Digest. She published the book Networking: The Great New Way for Women to Get Ahead in 1980, which promoted networking amongst women to combat exclusion from opportunities as the result of old boys networks. Welch was an active feminist who was a member of the National Organization for Women.
