The left-handed Watanabe has won Super 1000 tournaments a total of five times, and was the first ever male player from Japan to win an All England Open title, first at the 2018 All England Open in the mixed doubles event partnered with Arisa Higashino, then in the 2020 All England Open in the men's doubles event with Hiroyuki Endo, and in both men's and mixed doubles in the 2021 All England Open, defending his men's doubles title with Hiroyuki Endo and winning the mixed doubles category with once again, Arisa Higashino. Watanabe won the mixed doubles bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics, defeating Hong Kong's Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet in the bronze medal match.

Kim who was educated at the Maewon High School, competed at the 2016 Asian Junior Championships, and won the silver medals in the mixed doubles and team event. He also the bronze medallists at the 2017 World Junior Championships in the boys' doubles and team event. Kim is the son of the Olympic gold medalist Gil Young-ah. He was the youngest player from the Korean national team who competed at the 2017 Sudirman Cup. He played one match, in the opening tie with Russia in the round robin stage. In the final round, Korea won the title after beating China by the score of 3–2. He represented Korea in the 2018 Thomas Cup but lost the match against Indonesia and eliminated in quarterfinals.
Sandra Marinello is a German badminton player. She was born in Duisburg, and started to playing badminton in 1995. Marinello was part of the 1. BC Düren from 2008-2014, and previously plays for the SV Thomasstadt Kempen, BV RW Wesel, TV Remscheid, SCU Lüdinghausen, PSV Ludwigshafen, and BV Gifhorn. She won the women's doubles title at the national championships from 2009-2012 partnered with Birgit Overzier. Together with the German national women's team, she won the bronze medal at the 2006 Uber Cup in Japan. She also won the women's doubles bronze at the 2012 European Championships with Overzier.
Michael Keck is a German badminton player. Keck clinched nine titles at the National Championships, won the first time in 1990. He was the bronze medallists at the 1996 European Championships, winning the mixed doubles event at the World Grand Prix tournament in 1997 Swedish Open. Keck has collected 65 caps for Germany and competed at the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics. His brother Markus Keck also a former German professional badminton player.
