The Freedom Front Plus is a right-wing political party in South Africa that was formed in 1994. It is led by Pieter Groenewald. Since 2024, it is a part of the current South African government of national unity together with the African National Congress (ANC), the Democratic Alliance and other parties.
Petrus Johannes "Pieter" Groenewald is a South African politician who is currently serving as Minister of Correctional Services since July 2024. He has served as the Leader of the Freedom Front Plus since his election in November 2016. He started his political career by being elected Mayor of Stilfontein in 1988. He relinquished the position in 1989 due to his election to the House of Assembly. Groenewald co-founded the Freedom Front in 1994, and served as a Member of the National Assembly until his election to the North West Provincial Legislature in 1999. He returned to the National Assembly in 2001.
Tamarin "Tammy" Breedt is a South African politician who is the national youth leader of the Freedom Front Plus as well as a member of the National Council of Provinces. She was a Member of the Free State Provincial Legislature from December 2017 until May 2019 and a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa from May 2019 until May 2024. Breedt was married to fellow FF Plus MP Wouter Wessels.
Ockert Stefanus "Okkie" Terblanche is a South African retired politician and retired police general who served as the Shadow Deputy Minister of Police and as a Member of the National Assembly from 2019 until retiring from politics in 2024. He represented the Western Cape in the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) from October 2015 to May 2019. Terblanche is a member of the Democratic Alliance (DA).
Armand Benjamin Cloete is a South African politician who has been a member of the Free State Provincial Legislature since 2021. He had previously served as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces from the Free State from 2019 to 2021. Cloete is a member of the Freedom Front Plus.
Carin Visser is a South African politician. Since 2019 she has been serving as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces. She is a member of the North West provincial delegation. She was a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa from 2017 to 2018 and a Member of the North West Provincial Legislature from 2018 to 2019. She was also a municipal councillor of the Tswaing Local Municipality. Visser served the provincial chairperson of the Democratic Alliance (DA) from 2015 to 2020.
Dennis Richard Ryder is a South African politician. He has been serving as a parliamentarian since July 2017. Ryder is a member of the Democratic Alliance (DA).
Delmaine Chesley Christians is a South African politician who has been a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the Democratic Alliance (DA) since 2024. Prior to her election to the National Assembly, she was one of six permanent delegates from the Northern Cape to the National Council of Provinces, from 2019 to 2024
Seneanye Betta Lehihi is a South African politician who has been representing the North West in the National Council of Provinces since May 2019. Lehihi is a member of the Economic Freedom Fighters.
Simo Ezra Mfayela was a South African politician from KwaZulu-Natal who served as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces from May 2019 until his death. He was the sole permanent representative of the Inkatha Freedom Party and the deputy provincial chairperson of the party. Mfayela was the son of the former senator Dingizwe Phineas Mfayela.
Lindiwe Christabola Bebee is a South African politician. She has been serving as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces since May 2019. A member of the African National Congress, she is the whip of the KwaZulu-Natal provincial delegation. From May 2009 to May 2019, Bebee served as a Member of the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature.
Noluvuyo Tafeni, known as Luvuyo Tafeni, is a South African politician who has served as a Permanent Delegate to the National Council of Provinces since June 2023, representing the Eastern Cape. A member of the Economic Freedom Fighters party, she served as a Member of the National Assembly from October 2019 until June 2023.
Christiaan Frederik Beyers Smit is a South African politician who has been a permanent delegate on the National Council of Provinces from May 2014 to May 2024. Smit is a member of the Limpopo delegation and a party member of the Democratic Alliance.
Sam Zandamela is a South African politician from Mpumalanga who has served as a member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature since August 2022, and previously from July 2018 to May 2019. A member of the Economic Freedom Fighters party, he previously served as the party's deputy provincial chairperson. Zandamela served as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces from May 2019 until August 2022.
Bridget Staff Masango is a South African Democratic Alliance politician from Gauteng who has been a Member of the National Assembly since October 2015. Within the DA's Shadow Cabinet, she served as Shadow Minister of Social Development from October 2015 until June 2024. From May 2014 to October 2015, Masango served as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces.
Makosini Mishack Chabangu was a South African politician from the Free State. He is a member of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF). Chabangu was a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa from 2019 until his resignation in February 2023.
Dikgang Mathews Stock is a South African politician from the Northern Cape serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since 2019. Prior to his election to the National Assembly, he served as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces from 2014 to 2019. Stock is a member of the African National Congress.
Denis Joseph is a South African politician from the Western Cape. A member of the Democratic Alliance (DA), he was elected as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces in 2011. He served in the NCOP until his election to the Western Cape Provincial Parliament in 2014. After the 2019 election, Joseph returned to Parliament to serve as an MP in the National Assembly until 2024.
Masefako Clarah Dikgale is a South African politician who was a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa from 2019 to 2023. Prior to serving in the National Assembly, she served as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces from Limpopo from 2009 to 2019. Dikgale is a member of the African National Congress.
Michiel Adriaan Petrus De Bruyn is a South African politician. A member of the Freedom Front Plus, he represented the Free State in the National Council of Provinces from 2021 until 2024. He took up Armand Cloete's seat, who was sworn in as a member of the Free State Provincial Legislature. Prior to his appointment to the NCOP, De Bruyn was a Freedom Front Plus councillor in the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality.
