Far East Global Group was first established in 1969 in Hong Kong as a small workshop and the business was incorporated in 1977 as Far East Aluminium Works Company Limited. Through years of growth and expansion, the workshop has been transformed from a small aluminium windows contractor into a multi-national enterprise. In 1991, the then newly incorporated holding company, Far East Aluminium (Holdings) Limited (“FEAHL”), successfully went public and became a listed company in Hong Kong.

Internationally, Far East Global Group has been hired as the key exterior facade contractor in various countries including, United Arab Emirates, United States, Canada, Chile, Singapore, Macau and China.

Macau Special Administrative Region of China

In April 2008, Far East Aluminum has officially been renamed as Far East Group Limited.

In December 2009, Far East Group Limited officially changed its name to Far East Global Group Limited.

History

[1] In May 1999, China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation acquired a controlling interest in the Previously Named Far East Aluminum Works and became the controlling shareholder. In August of the same year, FEAHL was renamed to CATIC International Holdings Limited (“CATIC”).

China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation is a Chinese state-owned defense company with a core business in aviation products and technology. The exclusive representative of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China in the global market.

In late 2007, Showmost Group Limited, a company jointly owned by Lotus China Fund II L.P. (“Lotus”) and Starflash Investment Limited, obtained the entire equity interests in FEA Holdings Limited (“FEA”), the immediate holding company of all operating companies within the then FEAHL for the facade and cladding engineering businesses, and FEA ceased to be a subsidiary of CATIC.

In March 2010, Far East Global Group successfully went public and became a listed company in Hong Kong (HK.0830).

In March 2012, Far East Global Group became a member of China State Construction International Holdings.

China State Construction International Holdings

China State Construction International Holdings Limited is the largest construction contractor in Hong Kong, mostly from the projects in the government, public organisations and large private corporations. It is operated mainly under the subsidiaries of China State Construction Engineering Limited and China Overseas Limited currently.

Burj Khalifa Skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The Burj Khalifa, known as the Burj Dubai prior to its inauguration in 2010, is a skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. With a total height of 829.8 m (2,722 ft) and a roof height of 828 m (2,717 ft), the Burj Khalifa has been the tallest structure and building in the world since its topping out in 2009.

Kai Tak Cruise Terminal

Kai Tak Cruise Terminal is a luxury cruise ship terminal that opened at the former Kai Tak Airport runway at Hong Kong. Its completion date was delayed into 2013 due to re-tendering. Following an international competition, Foster + Partners was chosen to design the cruise terminal. The first ship berthed on 12 June 2013. The terminal has the capacity to berth two large 360-metre (1,180 ft) long vessels, which carry a total of 5,400 passengers and 1,200 crew, as well as anticipating the demands of cruise liners currently on the drawing board.

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts hotel chain

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is the trading entity of Shangri-La International Hotel Management Limited, a Hong Kong-based multinational hospitality company. Founded by Malaysian tycoon Robert Kuok in 1971, the company has over 100 luxury hotels and resorts with over 40,000 rooms in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North America and Australia. The company's head office is in Kerry Centre (嘉里中心), Quarry Bay.

Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore

Marina Bay Sands is an integrated resort fronting Marina Bay in Singapore, owned by the Las Vegas Sands corporation. At its opening in 2010, it was billed as the world's most expensive standalone casino property at S$8 billion, including the land cost. The resort, designed by Moshe Safdie, includes a 2,561-room hotel, a 120,000-square-metre (1,300,000 sq ft) convention-exhibition centre, the 74,000-square-metre (800,000 sq ft) The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands mall, a museum, two large theatres, "celebrity chef" restaurants, two floating Crystal Pavilions, art-science exhibits, and the world's largest atrium casino with 500 tables and 1,600 slot machines. The complex is topped by a 340-metre-long (1,120 ft) SkyPark with a capacity of 3,900 people and a 150 m (490 ft) infinity swimming pool, set on top of the world's largest public cantilevered platform, which overhangs the north tower by 67 m (220 ft). The 20-hectare resort was designed by Moshe Safdie architects.

Stanley Ho Hung-sun is the founder and Chairman of SJM Holdings, which owns nineteen casinos in Macau including the Grand Lisboa.
