Farmington High School is a public high school in Farmington, Connecticut that serves grades 9-12. In Newsweek's 2005 poll, FHS was ranked #1 in Connecticut and #271 in the nation, scoring high on both the challenge index and the equity and excellence index. Presently, the school is ranked #5 in the state by U.S. News & World Report. [5]
In June 2017, a town vote to build a new school occurred. Advocates for the new building highlighted the severe aging and inadequacy of the existing facilities. Due to budgetary concerns, the vote did not pass. [6] In June 2021, a subsequent referendum was held, with the proposed renovation estimated to cost $135.6 million; this referendum passed by a wide margin. [7]

Farmington is a town in Hartford County in the Farmington Valley area of central Connecticut in the United States. The town is part of the Capitol Planning Region. The population was 26,712 at the 2020 census. It sits 10 miles west of Hartford at the hub of major I-84 interchanges, 20 miles south of Bradley International Airport and two hours by car from New York City and Boston. It has been home to the world headquarters of several large corporations including Otis Elevator Company, United Technologies, and Carvel. The northwestern section of Farmington is a suburban neighborhood called Unionville.

Frederick U. Conard High School is a public high school in West Hartford, in the U.S. state of Connecticut. It opened in 1957, and was named after Frederick Underwood Conard, president of Niles-Bement-Pond Company and chairman of the local Board of Education when plans for the school were approved. Conard is one of two West Hartford public high schools, the other being Hall High School.
Richard John McAuliffe was an American professional baseball shortstop / second baseman, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers (1960–73) and Boston Red Sox (1974–75). He was a part of the Tigers' 1968 World Series championship, and was known for his unusual batting stance. A left-handed hitter, McAuliffe held his hands very high with an open stance that faced the pitcher. As the pitcher delivered to home plate, he moved his forward (right) foot to a more conventional position before swinging.
William H. Hall High School, also known as Hall High, is a four-year public high school located in West Hartford, in the U.S. state of Connecticut. Opened in 1924, it was named after William Hutchins Hall, who was a teacher, principal, and superintendent of schools in West Hartford. The school colors are blue and white, and the school’s mascot is the Titans, formerly the Warriors, after the Board Of Education voted to change it on February 1, 2022. It is one of two public high schools in the West Hartford Public Schools, the other being Conard High School.

Muzzy Field is a stadium in Bristol, Connecticut adjacent to Rockwell Park. In 1912, it was given to the Public Welfare Association in the city of Bristol by Commissioner Adrian Muzzy in memory of his two sons, for the express purpose of amateur athletics, officially opening on 8 July 1914, for both baseball and football. In 1939, after a fire, the 4,900-capacity brick-faced grandstand was built. It features a ring of tall pine trees that line the outside of the outfield wall and the grandstand.
