Faryal Mehmood is a Pakistani model and actress. She has played the role of Mehwish in Geo Entertainment's Baba Jani (2018). [2] [1] [3] Mehmood has been profiled and featured in Gulf News , [1] The News International , [2] and MangoBaaz . [4] Her mother is Pakistani singer Rohani Bano. [5]

Personal life

In late 2019, Mehmood shared in an interview with Samina Peerzada that she was a victim of sexual harassment and that her stepfather had molested her when she was a child. [5] She is an avid dancer. [4]

On 28 May 2020, Mehmood married Daniyal Raheal, son of veteran actor Simi Raheal. [6] Rumours surrounding their alleged separation began to spread later that year; on 13 December 2020, Mehmood publicly rejected these claims, commenting that she would "like you guys to leave my marriage up to me and @daniyalraheal and focus on issues that are important in your own lives." Later in 2021, she confirmed her divorce and that she is single again. [7]

Career

She appeared in 2017's series Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai as an antagonist. [2] The same year, she had her first major role in Laal Ishq written by Khalil-Ur-Rehman Qamar. In 2019, she made her web series debut as a second lead in Wajahat Rauf's Enaaya . [1]

She was praised for her portrayal of a straightforward and smart doctor in 2021's series Raqeeb Se , which was directed by Kashif Nisar and written by Bee Gul. [8]

Wakhri is a Pakistani film directed by Iram Parveen Bilal who co-produced it as well, and starring Faryal Mehmood in her debut film lead as a widowed school teacher who gets viral on social media. The film is inspired by the late social media celebrity Qandeel Baloch, who was murdered in 2016. The film had its world premiere in Red Sea International Film Festival in December 2023. It was later theatrically released on 5 January 2024 nationwide.
