The Mauritius Football Association (MFA) is the governing body of football in Mauritius. It was founded in 1952, affiliated to FIFA in 1964 and to CAF in 1965. The association was formerly known as the Mauritius Sports Association but renamed to Mauritius Football Association in 1984 through the introduction of a Sports Act by the government. The founding members of the association were FC Dodo, Faucon Flacq SC, CSC, Hounds, Royal College of Curepipe, and Saint Joseph College, all of which were based out of Curepipe and, with the exception of Flacq SC, have since ceased to exist. The Mauritius Football Association organizes the national football league and the national team.
Centre de Flacq or Central Flacq is the metropolitan area of Flacq District, located in the center of the district. The village is one of the most developed and popular villages in Mauritius. Home to several commercials and public institutions, the village topped the list of the most developed village in Flacq District. The village is administered by the Centre de Flacq Village Council under the aegis of the Flacq District Council. Elvis Antoine is a Mauritian footballer who played as left back at the Fire Brigade SC in the 1980s. He scored in the penalty shootout to give the victory to the Mauritian team in the Indian Ocean Games final in 1985. With Sunrise Flacq United, he reached the first round of African Cup of Champions Clubs in 1988.

Maminiaina Francis Rasolofonirina is a footballer who plays as a centre-back. Born in Madagascar, he made 47 appearances for the Mauritius national team scoring twice.
The 2018–19 Mauritian Premier League is the 39th season of the Mauritian Premier League, the top flight for football league in Mauritius. The league would be contested by the top eight teams from the 2017–18 season as well as the two clubs promoted from the National First Division, Vacoas-Phoenix and Rivière du Rempart. They replaced the two teams that were relegated to the National First Division, Entente Boulet Rouge-Riche Mare Rovers and Chebel Citizens SC
