The provinces of Italy are the second-level administrative divisions of the Italian Republic, on an intermediate level between a municipality and a region. Since 2015, provinces have been classified as "institutional bodies of second level".

Ca' Foscari University of Venice, or simply Ca' Foscari, is a public research university and business school in Venice, Italy. Since its foundation in 1868, it has been housed in the Venetian Gothic palace of Ca' Foscari, from which it takes its name. The palace stands on the Grand Canal, between the Rialto and San Marco, in the sestiere of Dorsoduro, while the rest of the University is scattered around the historical centre. Ca' Foscari in addition has campuses in Mestre and Treviso.
Piazzetta dei Leoncini is a city square in Venice, Italy. The square is located on the north side of the St Mark's Basilica, near the Palazzo Patriarcale and San Basso. The square is known for its lion statuary in marble of Cottanello, made by the sculptor Giovanni Bonazza in 1722. Also on the square, in an alcove of the Basilica itself, is the sarcophagus of Daniele Manin, the president of the brief independent Republic of San Marco, established during a rebellion in 1848 against Habsburg rule.
The province of Venice was a province in the Veneto region of Italy. Its capital was the city of Venice. It had an area of 2,467 km2, and a total population of 846,962 (2011). The province became the Metropolitan City of Venice by 1 January 2015.

The province was abolished on 30 September 2017; it was reestablished in 2019 as the regional decentralization entity of Pordenone, and was reactivated on 1 July 2020. It has a total population of 312,794 inhabitants.

Refrontolo is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Treviso in the Italian region Veneto, located about 50 kilometres north of Venice and about 30 km (19 mi) north of Treviso, representing the third smallest municipality by number of inhabitants (1,732) in the province, preceded only by Portobuffolé and Monfumo. It is located in a hilly viewpoint between Quartier del Piave and Montello, and it is crossed by the Prosecco and Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Hills Wine Road established in 1966. The municipality is in fact famous for the production of the Marzemino wine. Since July 7, 2019, Refrontolo's hills have been inscribed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site as The Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.
