Portions were suspended as of April 27,2011,and the entirety of the regulation was removed on December 23,2016.

Kerry Lynn Bentivolio is an American politician and educator who is the former United States Representative for Michigan's 11th congressional district,in office from 2013 to 2015. Bentivolio,a Republican,defeated Democratic nominee Syed Taj,a physician,in the November 6,2012 election. Bentivolio was defeated for the Republican nomination in his bid for a second term by attorney David Trott. He launched a write-in campaign for the November 2014 general election but lost again to Trott. After Trott announced he was not seeking reelection in 2018,Bentivolio again sought election in the eleventh district,but finished last in the primary. In October 2019,Bentivolio announced that he would again run for his former congressional seat against Democrat Haley Stevens in the 2020 election. Bentivolio would finish third in the Republican primary.

In 2010 the four Metro Detroit counties had at least 200,000 people of Middle Eastern origin. Bobby Ghosh of TIME said that some estimates gave much larger numbers. From 1990 to 2000 the percentage of people speaking Arabic in the home increased by 106% in Wayne County,99.5% in Macomb County,and 41% in Oakland County.

Abolish ICE is a political movement that seeks the abolition of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The movement gained mainstream traction in June 2018 following controversy of the Trump administration family separation policy. The movement proposes that ICE's responsibilities be subsumed by other existing immigration agencies,as was the case before its creation. Discussions are particularly focused on the enforcement wing of ICE.
