Fernando Arzola is a Cuban [1] boxer. [2] [3] He competed at the 2023 IBA World Boxing Championships, winning the silver medal in the super heavyweight event. [4] He also competed at the 2023 Pan American Games, winning the bronze medal in the men's +92 kg event. [5]

Cuba competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Cuban delegation was their smallest since 1964, which coincidentally was also in Tokyo. It was the nation's twenty-first appearance at the Summer Olympics. Cuba improved on its 2016 result, by winning 7 gold and 15 total medals after 5 and 11 in Rio.

Tammara Thibeault is a Canadian boxer competing in the Middleweight category. Thibeault won the 2022 World Championship in Istanbul after earlier winning the middleweight bronze in 2019. She is the reigning Commonwealth Games champion when she won gold in Birmingham in 2022, improving on her bronze medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Thibeault is also the current Pan American Games champion when she won gold at the 2023 Pan Am Games, again improving on her bronze from the 2019 Pan American Games.

Daniel Grégorich Hechavarria is a Cuban Greco-Roman wrestler. He won the gold medal in the 87 kg event at the 2023 Pan American Games held in Santiago, Chile. He has also won gold medals at the Pan American Wrestling Championships and the Central American and Caribbean Games.

Audrys Nin Reyes is a Dominican artistic gymnast. He is the 2019 and 2023 Pan American Games vault champion. He was the first Dominican gymnast to win a gold medal at the Pan American Games. He was also the first Dominican gymnast to win a gold medal at an FIG World Cup event when he won the vault title at the 2017 Osijek World Challenge Cup. He is the 2017 Pan American vault and horizontal bar champion and the 2017 Universiade vault champion. He is also the 2018 and 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games vault champion. He has qualified to represent the Dominican Republic at the 2024 Summer Olympics, the first male gymnast from his country to do so.

Wanderson de Oliveira is a Brazilian boxer. He competed in the men's lightweight event at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Arturo Silot Torres is a Cuban freestyle wrestler who claimed the silver medal at the 2022 Pan American Championships and the gold medal from the 2021 Junior Pan American Games.

It was also the second time since 1964 that the Cuban delegation had fewer than one hundred athletes.

Martín Molina is a Spanish boxer. He competed at the 2022 European Amateur Boxing Championships, winning the gold medal in the flyweight event. He also competed at the 2023 IBA Men's World Boxing Championships, winning the bronze medal in the same event.
