Fernando Bezerra Coelho (born December 7, 1957) is a Brazilian politician. He had represented Pernambuco in the Federal Senate from 2015 to 2023. Previously he was the Minister of National Integration from 2011 to 2013 and a Deputy from Pernambuco from 1987 to 1992. He is a member of the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party. [1]

It consists of 21 islands and islets, extending over an area of 26 km2 (10 sq mi). Only the eponymous main island is inhabited; it has an area of 18.4 km2 (7.1 sq mi) and a population estimated at 3,101 in 2020. While most of the archipelago is relatively low-lying, there are parts reaching more than 100 m (328 ft) in elevation.

The Federal Rural University of Pernambuco is a public university in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. Specializing in courses in agricultural sciences and other courses relating to rural development, the university also conducts research in these areas. However, in recent years the university has also added a variety of courses focused less on rural topics.

The 2022 Pernambuco state elections took place in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil on 2 October 2022. Voters elected a governor, vice governor, one senator, 25 representatives for the Chamber of Deputies, and 49 Legislative Assembly members. Paulo Câmara, the incumbent governor of Pernambuco, was reelected in the first round in 2018 Pernambuco gubernatorial election, with 1,918,219 votes, the equivalent to 50.70% of the valid votes. He wasn't eligible for a new term, since he ran for governor in 2014 and 2018. In a crowded field, former mayor of Caruaru Raquel Lyra (PSDB) defeated Federal Deputy Marília Arraes (Solidarity) by close to 20 points in the second round. She was inaugurated on 1 January 2023.
