The federative units of Brazil are subnational entities with a certain degree of autonomy and endowed with their own government and constitution,which together form the Federative Republic of Brazil. There are 26 states and one federal district. The states are generally based on historical,conventional borders which have developed over time. The states are divided into municipalities,while the Federal District assumes the competences of both a state and a municipality.
JoséRenan Vasconcelos Calheiros is a Brazilian politician and former President of the Senate of Brazil. He has represented the state of Alagoas in the senate as a member of the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party since 1 February 1995. Renan's presidency of the Brazilian Senate,a term that started 1 February 2013,was revoked on 5 December 2016 by a minister of the Brazilian Supreme Court,Marco Aurélio Mello,who said that a person under investigation could not be in the line of succession for the presidency. However the Supreme Court decided 7 December 2016 that Renan could remain senate president,without being in the succession.
Triunfo is a municipality in the Northeastern Brazilian state of Pernambuco. The estimated population in 2020,according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) was 15,243. The area of the municipality is 191.52 km2,and in 2010 the population density was 78 inhabitants/km2. Triunfo sits at an elevation of 1,004 metres (3,294 ft) in a forested part of the Sertão,and is the highest municipality in Pernambuco.

João Lins Vieira Cansanção de Sinimbu,Viscount of Sinimbu was a Brazilian politician. He was President of the Council of Ministers from 5 January 1878 until 28 March 1880. He served as the President of the Senate from 1887 to 1888.
Eduardo Henrique Accioly Campos was a Brazilian congressman and governor. Born and raised in Recife,in the Northeast Brazil,he graduated in Economics from the Recife's Federal University of Pernambuco. Campos' maternal grandfather,the governor of the Brazilian state,Pernambuco,made him his Financial Secretary. Campos became a federal congressman in Brazil and got Pernambuco federal money for a shipyard,railways and an oil refinery. Later,as Brazil's Minister for Science and Technology,he supported stem-cell research. He served two terms as governor of his home state,Pernambuco. He helped hospitals,secondary schools,wind power,farms,poor people and anti-crime data-mining. In his 2014 campaign for president of Brazil he criticized the incumbent and her Workers' Party and positioned himself as the business-friendly leader of the Brazilian Socialist Party. For outdoor rallies and local radio interviews,he criss-crossed the country by rented jet. He died on 13 August 2014,three days after his 49th birthday,when his plane crashed in poor weather in the city of Santos.

Starring Duda Mamberti and Luiz Carlos Vasconcelos,it shows the history of how Benjamin Abrahão befriended Lampião,the leader of the Cangaço,and filmed his crimes —a feat the Brazilian army was not able to accomplish. It used footage taken in 1936 for Abrahão's 1959 film Lampião,o Rei do Cangaço.

He represented Pernambuco in the Federal Senate from 2007 to 2015 and for a second term from 2019 to September 2023,when he officially resigned from office and retired from politics. Previously,he was governor of Pernambuco from 1999 to 2006. He is a member of the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party.

Raquel Teixeira Lyra Lucena is a Brazilian lawyer,politician and the current governor of Pernambuco since 2023. Lyra was mayor of Caruaru from 2017 to 2022. A member of a political family,she previously served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Pernambuco. She is affiliated to the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB) but was a member of the Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB).
The 2022 Pernambuco state elections took place in the state of Pernambuco,Brazil on 2 October 2022. Voters elected a governor,vice governor,one senator,25 representatives for the Chamber of Deputies,and 49 Legislative Assembly members. Paulo Câmara,the incumbent governor of Pernambuco,was reelected in the first round in 2018 Pernambuco gubernatorial election,with 1,918,219 votes,the equivalent to 50.70% of the valid votes. He wasn't eligible for a new term,since he ran for governor in 2014 and 2018. In a crowded field,former mayor of Caruaru Raquel Lyra (PSDB) defeated Federal Deputy Marília Arraes (Solidarity) by close to 20 points in the second round. She was inaugurated on 1 January 2023.
JoséMúcio Monteiro Filho is a Brazilian civil engineer and politician,affiliated with the Democratic Renewal Party (PRD),and is currently Brazil's Defense Minister. He had previously been Minister and president of the Federal Court of Audits (TCU) during the first Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva government and Minister of Institutional Relations during the same government.

It is governed by three branches,the executive,the legislative,and the judiciary,and its current constitution was enacted on October 5,1989;the first constitution was enacted in 1891 and after that there were three others.
Miss Pernambuco is a Brazilian Beauty pageant which selects the representative for the State of Pernambuco at the Miss Brazil contest. The pageant was created in 1955 and has been held every year since with the exception of 1990,and 1993. The pageant is held annually with representation of several municipalities. The competition was organized for thirty years by Miguel Braga but Braga passed away in 2021. Since 2021,the State director for Miss Pernambuco is Romildo Alves. Pernambuco still has yet to win any crowns in the national contest.
