The Ferrara Marathon is an annual marathon competition hosted by the city of Ferrara, Italy. The inaugural year was 1979. The race was held in nearby Vigarano Mainarda for 1999 and earlier.

Vigarano Mainarda is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Ferrara in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northeast of Bologna and about 9 kilometres (6 mi) west of Ferrara.
Ornella Ferrara is an Italian long-distance runner who specialized in the marathon race. She represented her country twice at the Summer Olympics and was the bronze medalist in the marathon at the 1995 World Championships in Athletics. She has won marathon races in her home country, including the Rome City Marathon, Carpi Marathon and Venice Marathon.
The Daegu International Marathon is an annual marathon race which takes place in April in Daegu, South Korea. The day's events also feature a 5K event and a 10K event, as well as the full course marathon (42.195 km).

Since 2012, she competes for the German club MTV Braunschweig.

The 25K run is a long distance running footrace that is between the distance of a half marathon and a marathon. It was formerly an official world record distance in road running by World Athletics, but has since been downgraded to world best status. Separately, the Association of Road Racing Statisticians retains world records in the 25K distance. The ARRS holds different standards for records than World Athletics, with exclusions for certain point-to-point races and mixed sex races. As a result its women's world record is 1:26:34 by Nancy Conz, set in 1982.
