The 1983 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 12th Southeast Asian Games, or informally Singapore 1983, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event held in Singapore from 28 May to 6 June 1983. The field hockey competitions at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur will take place at National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

The men's field hockey tournament at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games was held from 22 to 29 August in Malaysia. In this tournament, 5 Southeast Asian teams played in the men's competition.

The women's field hockey tournament at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games was held from 21 to 28 August in Malaysia. In this tournament, 5 Southeast Asian teams played in the women's competition.

Indoor hockey at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games

The indoor hockey competitions at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines were held at the LB Centro Mall & Convention Center in Los Banos, Laguna from 4 to 10 December 2019. There were competitions in two events.
