Billiards and snooker at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games was held in OCBC Arena Hall 4, in Kallang, Singapore from 6 to 10 June 2015. Ten competitions was held in men's snooker singles, snooker doubles, English billiards singles, English billiards singles (500 points), English billiards doubles, English billiards team, 9-ball pool doubles and in men's 1 cushion carom and in men, women's 9-ball pool singles. Cue sports, also known as billiard sports, are a wide variety of games of skill generally played with a cue stick, which is used to strike billiard balls and thereby cause them to move around a cloth-covered billiards table bounded by elastic bumpers known as cushions.
Geet Siriram Sethi of India is a professional player of English billiards who dominated the sport throughout much of the 1990s. He is also a notable amateur (ex-pro) snooker player. He is a five-time winner of the professional-level and a three-time winner of the amateur world championships, and holder of two world records, in English billiards. Along with Prakash Padukone, Sethi has co-founded Olympic Gold Quest, a foundation for the promotion of sports in India.
A billiard table or billiards table is a bounded table on which cue sports are played. In the modern era, all billiards tables provide a flat surface usually made of quarried slate, that is covered with cloth, and surrounded by vulcanized rubber cushions, with the whole thing elevated above the floor. More specific terms are used for specific sports, such as snooker table and pool table, and different-sized billiard balls are used on these table types. An obsolete term is billiard board, used in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Pool is a classification of cue sports played on a table with six pockets along the rails, into which balls are deposited. Each specific pool game has its own name; some of the better-known include eight-ball, blackball, nine-ball, ten-ball, seven-ball, straight pool, one-pocket, and bank pool.
The cue sports of snooker, English billiards, and three-cushion carom for men, as well as eight-ball and nine-ball pool for both men and women, were contested at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar from December 4 to December 11. All events were held at the Al-Sadd Multi-Purpose Hall.
Lee Vann Corteza, also spelled Lee Van Corteza, is a Filipino professional pool player. He is nicknamed "Van Van", and started playing pool in 1993.
The billiards and snooker events at the 2007 Southeast Asian Games were held at the Sima Thani Hotel Grand Ballroom, Nakhon Ratchasima from 7 December to 14 December. There were thirteen events in total, ten men's and three women's. Thailand was the most successful nation overall, winning five gold medals.
The cue sports competition at the 2009 World Games, including three-cushion billiards, nine-ball and snooker, took place from 22 to 26 July, at the Chung Cheng Martial Arts Stadium in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
The cue sports competition at the 2005 World Games, including three-cushion billiards, nine-ball and snooker, took place from 20 to 24 July at the Saalbau Bottrop in Bottrop, Germany. 64 competitors, from 32 nations, participated in the tournament.

The cue sports was one of the many sports which was held at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea between 1 and 8 October 2002. The competition took place at Dongju College Gymnasium. The competition included only men's events.
The 2015 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 28th Southeast Asian Games, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event hosted by the city-state of Singapore. It was the fourth time the country hosted the games. Singapore previously also hosted the games in 1973, 1983 and 1993 edition.
Cue sports was contested at the Asian Games for the first time at the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand between 6 and 19 December 1998. The competition took place at the Land Sports Complex. The competition included only men's events.
Badminton at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games is held in Singapore Indoor Stadium, in Kallang, Singapore from 10 to 16 June 2015. Seven competitions were held in men and women's singles and in men, women and mixed's doubles and in men and women's team.
Bowling at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games were held in Orchid Country Club, Singapore from 9 to 14 June 2015. Ten competitions were held in men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles, men's and women's trios, men's and women's teams of five, and men's and women's masters.
Swimming competitions at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games was held at the OCBC Aquatic Centre in the Singapore Sports Hub in Kallang, Singapore from 6 to 11 June 2015. Built only a year earlier, the venue is hosting the Southeast Asian Games for the first time. It was used to host the second Southeast Asian Swimming Championships in 2014 as a test bed for the organisers, with the 2015 Southeast Asian Games volunteers hired to also volunteer in the 2014 Swimming Championships to help in the familiarisation of the new venue.
Diving at the2015 Southeast Asian Games was held in OCBC Aquatic Centre, in Kallang, Singapore from 6 to 9 June 2015.
The billiards and snooker competitions at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur were held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre of Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
The year of 2019 included professional tournaments surrounding table-top cue sports. These events include snooker, pool disciplines and billiards. Whilst these are traditionally singles sports, some matches and tournaments are held as doubles, or team events. The snooker season runs between May and April, whilst the pool and billiards seasons run in the calendar year.
Chen Siming is a Chinese professional pool player. Chen is best known for winning the 2017 WPA World Nine-ball Championship.
