Filip Tadeusz Grzegorzewski is a Polish and European diplomat,since 2019 he serves as Head of the European Economic and Trade Office in Taiwan.
Filip Grzegorzewski,representing the European Union in Taiwan,is a senior diplomat in the European External Action Service. [1] He specialises in Asia,and held key positions in both his national diplomatic service and that of the European Union. He was appointed the Head of European Economic and Trade Office on 1 September 2019.
From 2015 until 2019,Grzegorzewski was Chair of the Council Working Group on Asia - Oceania (COASI). The group brings together delegates from each EU member state Ministry of Foreign Affairs and meets weekly to prepare the decisions of the Council of the European Union on all matters pertaining to the two continents.
From 2013 to mid-2015 he was Director General of Asia-Pacific Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. He also acted as ASEM Senior Official,and National Coordinator of the Central and Eastern Europe - China cooperation (16+1). Between 2011 and 2013 he was Head of the Policy Unit and Deputy Chief of Staff in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Grzegorzewski was Political Counsellor at the European Union Delegation to China and Mongolia between 2008 -2011. This came after he served as COASI Representative at the Permanent Representation of Poland to the European Union (2005 - 2008).
He graduated from the Polish Diplomatic Academy and the University of Warsaw with a specialisation in Chinese studies and international relations. He also studied at Nanjing Normal University in China and at Hanoi University in Vietnam.
Jamaica has diplomatic relations with many nations and is a member of the United Nations and the Organization of American States. Jamaica chairs the Working Group on smaller Economies.
Kiribati is a full member of the Commonwealth,the IMF and the World Bank,and became a full member of the United Nations in 1999. Kiribati hosted the Thirty-First Pacific Islands Forum in October 2000. Kiribati has Least Developed Country Status and its interests rarely extend beyond the region. Through accession to the LoméConvention,then Cotonou Agreement,Kiribati is also a member of the African Caribbean and Pacific Group. Kiribati maintains good relations with most countries and has particularly close ties to Pacific neighbours Japan,Australia,South Korea and New Zealand. Kiribati briefly suspended its relations with France in 1995 over that country's decision to renew nuclear testing in the South Pacific.
China,officially the People's Republic of China (PRC),has full diplomatic relations with 180 out of the other 192 United Nations member states,Cook Islands,Niue and the State of Palestine. China has had the most diplomatic missions of any state.
South Korea maintains diplomatic relations with 191 countries. The country has also been a member of the United Nations since 1991,when it became a member state at the same time as North Korea. South Korea has also hosted major international events such as the 1988 Summer Olympics and 2002 World Cup Football Tournament and the 2011 IAAF World Championships Daegu South Korea. Furthermore,South Korea had hosted the 2018 Winter Olympics which took place in Pyeongchang,South Korea from 9 to 25 February.
Taiwan,formally known as the Republic of China (ROC),currently has formal diplomatic relations with 11 of the 193 United Nations member states and with the Holy See,which governs the Vatican City State,as of 5 February 2024. In addition to these relations,the ROC also maintains unofficial relations with 59 UN member states,one self-declared state (Somaliland),three territories,and the European Union via its representative offices and consulates under the One-China Principle. In 2021,the Government of the Republic of China had the 33rd largest diplomatic network in the world with 110 offices.
Uzbekistan joined the Commonwealth of Independent States in December 1991. However,it is opposed to reintegration and withdrew from the CIS collective security arrangement in 1999. Since that time,Uzbekistan has participated in the CIS peacekeeping force in Tajikistan and in United Nations-organized groups to help solve the Tajik and Afghan conflicts,both of which it sees as posing threats to its own stability. Uzbekistan is an active supporter of U.S. efforts against worldwide terrorism and joined the coalitions which have dealt with both Afghanistan and Iraq. It is a member of the United Nations,the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council,Partnership for Peace,and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). It belongs to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Economic Cooperation Organization,which comprises 7 Central Asian countries:Pakistan,Uzbekistan,Kazakhstan,Turkmenistan,Afghanistan,Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. It is a founding member of and remains involved in the Central Asian Union,formed with Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan,joined in March 1998 by Tajikistan.
As of April 2022,Vietnam maintains diplomatic relationships with 189 UN member states,State of Palestine and Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic. In 2011 the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam,at the 11th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam,released an official statement about Vietnam's foreign policy and a section of the statement stated:"Vietnam is a friend and reliable partner of all countries in the international community,actively taking part in international and regional cooperation processes. Deepen,stabilize and sustain established international relations. Develop relations with countries and territories in the world,as well as international organizations,while showing:respect for each other's independence;sovereignty and territorial integrity;non-interference in each other's international affairs;non-use or threat of force;settlement of disagreements and disputes by means of peaceful negotiations;mutual respect,equality and mutual benefit."
Although there has been a large degree of integration between European Union member states,foreign relations is still a largely intergovernmental matter,with the 27 states controlling their own relations to a large degree. However,with the Union holding more weight as a single entity,there are at times attempts to speak with one voice,notably on trade and energy matters. The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy personifies this role.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the governmental body responsible for conducting foreign relations of the Republic of Turkey. The Ministry is responsible for Turkey's diplomatic missions abroad and for the promotion of Turkish culture,as well as for implementing the country's foreign policy in accordance with its national interests. The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QSD),commonly known as the Quad,is a strategic security dialogue between Australia,India,Japan and the United States that is maintained by talks between member countries. The dialogue was initiated in 2007 by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe,with the support of Australian Prime Minister John Howard,Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney. The dialogue was paralleled by joint military exercises of an unprecedented scale,titled Exercise Malabar. The diplomatic and military arrangement was widely viewed as a response to increased Chinese economic and military power.
The Taipei Representative Office in the EU and Belgium represents interests of Republic of China (Taiwan) in Belgium,Luxembourg,as well as in the European Union institutions,in the absence of formal diplomatic relations,functioning as a de facto embassy.

Wolf warrior diplomacy is a form of public diplomacy involving compellence adopted by Chinese diplomats in the late 2010s. The term was coined from the title of the Chinese action film Wolf Warrior 2 (2017). This approach is in contrast to the prior diplomatic practices of Deng Xiaoping and Hu Jintao,which had emphasized the use of cooperative rhetoric and the avoidance of controversy.
