Fischer Lake, just southeast of Florida State Road 429, is a natural freshwater lake west of Orlando, Florida, in Orange County, Florida. This lake is partially surrounded by residential housing and Camp Ithiel is on its southwest shore. Most of its shores are swampy. It is listed in the Orange County Wateratlas as a private lake and there is no public access along its shores. [4]
Lake Silver is a natural freshwater lake located in central Winter Haven, Florida. This lake has a 51.73-acre (209,300 m2) surface area and is completely surrounded by offices, clinics and residential areas. The lake, almost circular in shape, is surrounded on three sides by North and South Lake Silver Drive. Lake Silver Drive on the east side is also part of 1st Street North. Lake Silver is surrounded by public land on all but its south and northwest shores. On the east side, 1st Street is only about 10 feet (3.0 m) away. On the north, North Lake Silver Drive is about 20 feet (6.1 m) away. On the entire west and southwest sides is parkland. Directly across 1st Street, to the southeast, is the Winter Haven Hospital campus. Beyond the housing to the south and across South Lake Silver Drive is the main campus of Gessler Clinic.
Lake Conine is a natural freshwater lake on the north side of Winter Haven, Florida. The lake is not within the city limits, but is almost entirely surrounded by the city of Winter Haven. Lake Conine is almost as often called Lake Connie as it is called Lake Conine. In fact, the Fishing Works website site has two listings calling this lake the former name and one calling it the latter. Lake Conine is bounded on the north and southwest by residential areas. On the west and southeast are woods. On the east the lake is bordered by SR 544. Lake Conine has a 237-acre (960,000 m2) surface area and it is shaped somewhat like a teardrop.
Lake Summit is a natural freshwater lake in Winter Haven, Florida. It has a 65.97-acre (267,000 m2) surface area and is somewhat oval in shape. It has two small coves on its north side. This lake is surrounded by residences around most of its perimeter. It has a public park, Lake Summit Park, on part of its west side, and Legoland Florida's water park is on its southeast shore. A boat canal on the south side of Lake Summit leads to Lake Eloise.
Lake Florence is a tear-shaped natural freshwater lake in east-central Winter Haven, Florida. This lake has a 72.59-acre (293,800 m2) surface area. It is surrounded on all but its east and northeast sides by residential areas. On the east it is bordered by woods and on the northeast it is bordered by a citrus grove.
Lake Fannie, is a natural freshwater lake on the northeast side of Winter Haven, Florida. This lake has an 802-acre (3,250,000 m2) surface area. Much of its shoreline area is swamplike, but the rest of the lake is free of surface vegetation. Lake Idyl is bordered on the north by Polk County Road 544, on part of the east side by a residential area and on most of the rest of its shoreline by woods.
Lake Pansy, an almost round lake, has a surface area of 50.42-acre (204,000 m2). This lake is on the north edge of Winter Haven, Florida. The city limits just reach water's edge on the east and southeast and the south city limits of Lake Alfred, Florida, are just across US Highway 92, which is 100 feet (30 m) northeast of Lake Pansy. The lake's north and west shores are bordered by woods. The east and northwest shores are bordered by residences and the southeast shore borders a citrus grove. Lake Pansy and the Winter Haven Municipal Airport are separated on the west side of the lake by 21st Street Northwest.
Lake Butler, which is very swampy along most of its shoreline, has a surface area of 17.26-acre (69,800 m2). On the northeast and east shores is a residential area. On the west is a citrus grove and on the south is grassy land with a scattering of residences.
Clear Lake is a 357-acre (1,440,000 m2) freshwater lake located in central Orlando, Florida. This lake, somewhat lemon shaped, is surrounded by a residential area. A series of canals on the lake's southwest provide boat access for the houses there. John Young Parkway borders the lake on part of its west side. A very small portion of John Young Parkway crosses the extreme western part of Clear Lake.
Sunset Lake, sometimes called Lake Sunset, is a 28.76-acre (116,400 m2) freshwater lake located in west central Orlando, Florida. This teardrop-shaped lake is surrounded by a residential area. John Young Parkway borders the lake on part of its west side.
Silver Lake is an almost circular, natural freshwater lake in Lake County, Florida. Silver Lake Drive surrounds the lake. Much of it is surrounded by residences and private boat and fishing docks, which dot the lake. On the northeast is Silver Lake Country Club, on the southeast is the Lake-Sumter State College campus and a flight line of Leesburg International Airport. Also, inside the end of the flight line is the Leesburg Dog Park. All of the lake is inside the city of Silver Lake, Florida.
Silver Lake is a long and narrow natural freshwater lake on the border between Hernando County, Florida, and Sumter County, Florida. This lake is surrounded by the Withlacoochee State Forest. On the south shore are the Silver Lake Campgrounds. A public boat ramp on the lake shore is within the campgrounds. On the northwest this lake is bounded by Interstate 75. The entire shore of Silver Lake is forested. A small almost round islet, 60 feet (18 m) long by 50 feet (15 m) wide, is in the southeast corner of the lake, just offshore. Sometimes sandbars are nearby. The Withlacoochee River flows into the lake and out the other end.
Lake Clinch is a natural freshwater lake on the west side of Frostproof, Florida. Residences surround much of this lake. This lake apparently has no public swimming areas or but it has a public boat ramp on the southwest side of Frostproof. The city of Frostproof has a public park on its eastern shore.
Panther Lake is a natural freshwater lake on the north side of Walt Disney World, in Orange County, Florida. In fact, a small part of the lake is within the boundaries of Walt Disney World. This lake originally had an irregular shape and today parts of the lake are filled in, because of encroaching development. On the west side of the lake is Florida State Road 429, a toll highway. On the south, east and northeast is Watermark Winter Garden, a large housing development. On most of the rest of the north is Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge.
Hickorynut Lake, also known sometimes as Little Hickorynut, is a natural freshwater lake on the northwest side of Walt Disney World, in Orange County, Florida. This lake has an irregular shape and much of it is surrounded by land that floods easily. On the east side of the lake is Florida State Road 429, a toll highway. Some residential areas are now bordering it.
Lake Ingram, also sometimes spelled as Inghram, is a natural freshwater lake on the west side of Orlando, Florida, in Orange County, Florida. This lake is shaped like an arrowhead and much of it is surrounded by land that floods easily. To the east side of the lake is Florida State Road 429, a toll highway. Some residential areas are now bordering it.
Lake Hancock is a swampy natural freshwater lake on the west side of Orlando, Florida, in Orange County, Florida. This lake is long and winding. To the west side of the lake is Florida State Road 429, a toll highway. Residential housing surrounds all, but the east end of the lake.
Lake Hartley is a natural freshwater lake on the west side of Orlando, Florida, in Orange County, Florida. This lake, with some swampy shore areas, is long and winding. To the west side of the lake is Florida State Road 429, a toll highway. Residential housing, a private school and a retail area border parts of the lake. Citrus groves also border parts of it. The entire lake is surrounded by private property, so there is no public access to this lake.
Lake Tilden, also considered part of nearby Black Lake, is a natural freshwater lake on the west side of Orlando, Florida, in Orange County, Florida. This lake, with some swampy shores, meets Black Lake on its northwest side. To the south side of the lake is Florida State Road 429, a toll highway. Residential housing developments are on the southwest and north sides of the lake. The entire lake is surrounded by private property, so there is no public access to this lake.
Lake Roberts, just south of Florida State Road 429, is a natural freshwater lake on the west side of Orlando, Florida, in Orange County, Florida. This lake is almost entirely surrounded by residential housing. It has a swampy area on its northeast and the only public access is along a short stretch of McKinnon Road that runs along a very small part of the southeast shore of the lake. As that stretch is brushy it would probably even be unsuitable for fishing.
Lake Sherwood, just southeast of Florida State Road 429, is a natural freshwater lake west of Orlando, Florida, in Orange County, Florida. This lake is surrounded by residential housing and retail establishments. Two roads cross the lake via bridges. Colonial Drive, an east to west street, crosses its middle and Florida State Road 429 cuts across the southern portion of the lake. Much of the lake shore is swampy. Lake Sherwood is listed in the Orange County Wateratlas as a private lake; there is no public access along its shores.
