Fitore is a village of about 300 people in Korçë County, Albania. It is part of the former municipality Miras. At the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality Devoll. [1] Most of the families are farmers and they keep livestock such as cows, sheep, chickens, rabbits etc. Horses are used mainly to carry stuff around the fields, from and to the village. Horses are used also to bring hardwoods from mountain that is used for wood-burning appliances. Some families keep dogs and cats as domestic animals. The village is also known by its old name Shënkollas (Saint Nicholas), which was changed after WWII and religious names were banned from use. There is an elementary school and a high school where students from Dobranj, Bracanj, Fitore, Zicisht, Poncare, Menkulas, Zicisht, Sul and Koshnice go to.
Kavajë is a municipality centrally located in the Western Lowlands region of Albania, in Tirana County. It borders Durrës to the north 17 km (11 mi), Tiranë to the east 27 km (17 mi) and Rrogozhinë to the south 15 km (9 mi). To the west lies the Adriatic Sea. Eulogios Kourilas Lauriotes (1880–1961) was a bishop of the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania. He was the Orthodox metropolitan bishop of Korçë (Korytsa) in Albania between 1937 and 1939, and a professor of philosophy and author on religious matters. He later became one of the leaders of the Northern Epirus movement, propagating that Greece should annex southern Albania.
