Five Six Seven Eight, also known as 5678, is an Indian Tamil-language teen dance drama series directed by A. L. Vijay, Prasanna JK, and Mrudhula Sridharan and produced by A.L. Alagappan and Hitesh Thakkur, starring Ditya Bhande, Nagendra Prasad and Chinni Prakash. It follows the lives of gifted middle-class youngsters turned financially disadvantaged dancers who work hard to overcome difficulty and achieve their dreams. [2] It premiered on ZEE5 on 18 November 2022. [3]
In early 2022, ZEE5 announced a slate of eleven upcoming Tamil series and films, with Five Six Seven Eight being one of them, [4] [5] scheduled for a release on 18 November 2022. [6] The makers unveiled the first look posters through social media platforms [6] and the official teaser was released on 17 October 2022 which shows a conflict of sorts between two dance groups who come from different socio-economic backgrounds. A critic from Cinema Express wrote: "As a whole, the Five Six Seven Eight series has its heart in the right place." [8]

Kaththi is a 2014 Indian Tamil-language action drama film written and directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Lyca Productions. The film stars Vijay in a dual role with Samantha, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Tota Roy Chowdhury and Sathish. '96 is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by C. Premkumar. Produced by S. Nanthagopal of Madras Enterprises, the film was distributed by Lalit Kumar under his banner Seven Screen Studio. Starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan in the prominent roles as Ram and Jaanu, while newcomers Gouri G. Kishan and Aadithya Bhaskar played the younger version. The film also stars with an ensemble cast includes Bagavathi Perumal, Devadarshini, Aadukalam Murugadoss and others. The film revolves around the reunion of former students from the batch of 1996, twenty-two years after their graduation. The reunion also serves as an opportunity for two former lovers, Ram and Jaanu, to resolve issues surrounding their breakup.

Suryah while Sathyaraj, Vadivelu, Nithya Menen, Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Hareesh Peradi, Kovai Sarala and Sathyan appear in pivotal supporting roles. The story revolves around two brothers, who were separated at birth; one is a magician avenging his parents's deaths and medical crimes, and the other, a reputed doctor who charges meagre amounts from his patients.

It follows Sundar Ramaswamy, a corporate raider, who arrives in Tamil Nadu from the United States to cast his vote in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election, only to find that his vote has already been recorded as cast, which leads him to raises awareness against electoral fraud and contest as a non-partisan politician in the elections amidst several attempts made on his life and reputation.

The film stars Vijay in the titular role while Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff, Vivek and Kathir appear in other prominent roles. In the film, Michael Rayyapan alias Bigil is a footballer-turned-gangster who decides to coach a women's football team when their coach gets attacked.
Varisu ( transl. Heir) is a 2023 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by Vamshi Paidipally who co-wrote it with Hari and Ashishor Solomon. Produced jointly by Dil Raju and Sirish under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations and PVP Cinema, the film stars an ensemble cast of Vijay, R. Sarathkumar, Srikanth, Shaam, Rashmika Mandanna, Prabhu, Jayasudha, Sangeetha, Prakash Raj, Ganesh Venkatraman and Suman. It focuses on an entrepreneur's youngest son being named the chairman of his father's business, much to the dismay of his two brothers.
Mersal is the soundtrack of the 2017 Tamil action film of the same name directed by Atlee, which stars Vijay in a triple role with Nithya Menen, Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha as the female leads. The film, which marked the 100th production of Thenandal Studio Limited, has a soundtrack album features four tracks composed by A. R. Rahman, in his first collaboration with Atlee and his third collaboration with Vijay after composing for Udhaya (2004) and Azhagiya Tamizh Magan (2007), whilst Vivek penned the lyrics for all the songs in the film's soundtrack, also in his first association with Rahman.
