The Flag of the Alliance of Sahel States is the flag used since 2025 by the Alliance of Sahel States, a confederation formed between Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. ^[1]

Design

The flag features an orange sun above a baobab tree. Below the tree, a group of silhouetted figures is depicted standing together. The design includes an outline of the three member territories, shown without internal borders, set against a green background. ^{[2] [3] [1]}

The flag's design was officially approved by the heads of state of the three member countries—Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso—prior to its unveiling on February 22, 2025, in Bamako, Mali. ^{[4] [1]}

Symbolism

Green: The color green symbolizes hope, prosperity, and renewal, and also represents the region’s vast natural resources, which are seen as a foundation for future shared prosperity. ^{[5] [3] [4]}

Silhouetted figures: Symbolizes unity between Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. ^[1]
