Fleetwood Weekly News is a weekly newspaper based in Fleetwood, Lancashire, England published every week, on a Wednesday, which covers Fleetwood and North Fylde.

The newspaper is published by Blackpool Gazette & Herald Ltd who also publish the daily Blackpool Gazette and the weekly Lytham St. Annes Express. All three are owned by National World. [2]

Fleetwood Pier, also known as the Victoria Pier, was a pleasure pier located in the English town of Fleetwood, Lancashire. At 492 feet (150 m) in length, it was one of the shortest piers in the country. It was built in 1910 at the end of the golden age of pier building, and other than a 1957 pier built in Deal, Kent to replace a structure damaged in World War II, it was the last pleasure pier to be built in the United Kingdom. The building was destroyed by fire and demolished in 2008.

The Fylde Coast derby is the name given to the regional football rivalry between the two Football League clubs situated in the Fylde Coast area of Lancashire – Blackpool and Fleetwood Town, first contested in 1980. Blackpool play at Bloomfield Road while Fleetwood play at Highbury Stadium, the two grounds separated by 8.5 miles (13.7 km).
