Florence Akiiki Asiimwe is a Ugandan politician, author, and lecturer. On January 14, 2021, she was elected as the representative of parliament for Masindi District in the 11th Parliament of Uganda. She is affiliated to the National Resistance Movement party which has been the ruling party since 1986. [1]

Career and education

Asiimwe holds a PhD in sociology from the University of Cape Town and a Master of Arts in development studies from the International Institute of Social Studies from The Hague, Netherlands. [2] [3] She worked as a senior lecturer at the Department of Sociology at Makerere University, a part-time lecturer at the University of the Western Cape, and a visiting scholar Kyoto University. [3] Asiimwe has published books titled Community Mobilisation Skills in 2007 and The Untold Stories: Gender and Homeownership in Urban Uganda in 2011. [4] [5] [6]

During the 2021 Ugandan general election on January 14, 2021, she was elected as the representative of parliament for Masindi District in the 11th Parliament of Uganda.

Anita Annet Among is a Ugandan accountant, lawyer and politician who is the Speaker of the 11th Parliament of Uganda since 2022. Anne Mary Kobugabe Tumwine is a Ugandan teacher and politician and is a woman member of the 10th and 11th Parliament of Uganda as a representative from Ntoroko district and she is affiliated to the National Resistance Movement political party.

Jalia Bintu also known as Bintu Lukumu Ngonzi Abwooli Jalia is a female Ugandan politician and social worker/teacher affiliated to the National Resistance Movement political party. She is the district woman representative of Masindi district who has served in the eighth, ninth, and tenth Parliaments of Uganda.

Florence Namayanja is a female Ugandan politician who was district woman representative of Bukoto County East, Masaka District. She was affiliated to the Democratic Party political party and now affiliated to National Unity Platform. In the 11th Parliament, she stood as the Candidate for LC5 Chairperson for Masaka City under the National Unity Platform although she lost the elections. She was the winner of Masaka city mayoral seat after defeating seven candidates including business tycoon, Emmanuel Lwasa with 28,824 votes.

Flavia Rwabuhoro Kabahenda is a Ugandan Politician, Woman member of Parliament representing Kyegegwa district in the 11th Parliament of Uganda representing the National Resistance Movement. She is also Chairperson Parliament committee of gender labor and social development. She also served in the 10th Parliament of Uganda as the woman Member of Parliament representing Kyengewa District. Flavia was the founding chairperson and coordinator of the Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Social Protection established in 2014. Flavia Rwabuhoro Kabahenda was also a key advocate for the Senior Citizens’ Grant in Uganda.

Dorothy Nyakato Nzibonera is a Ugandan politician who is the Woman Member of Parliament for Kitagwenda District in Uganda in the eleventh Parliament of the Republic of Uganda. She is affiliated to the National Resistance Movement the ruling political party in Uganda after the January, 2021 polls. She is also an accountant by profession and has served as an accounting assistant at the Human Rights Center Uganda.

Florence Nkurukenda is a Ugandan educator and former Member of Parliament.
