Florian Schmidt (born 31 March 1986 in Frankfurt an der Oder) is a German sport shooter who competes in the men's 10 metre air pistol and the men's 50 metre pistol. [1] At the 2008 Summer Olympics, he finished 37th in the 10 metre air pistol and 28th in the 50 metre pistol. [2] At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he finished 25th in the qualifying round for the 10 metre air pistol, failing to make the cut for the final, and 17th in the 50 metre pistol. [2]
Holger Louis Nielsen was a Danish fencer, sport shooter, and athlete. He competed at the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens. He is probably best known for drawing up the first set of rules for the game of handball.
The men's individual competition with revolver and pistol, distance 50 metres was a shooting sports event held as part of the shooting at the 1912 Summer Olympics programme. It was the fourth appearance of the event, which was the only one to have been featured at every edition of the Games to that point. The competition was held on Monday, 1 July 1912. Fifty-four sport shooters from twelve nations competed. Nations were limited to 12 shooters each. The event was won by Alfred Lane of the United States, completing a double for him with the rapid fire pistol event. It was the United States' second victory in the event. Another American, Peter Dolfen, finished second. Charles Stewart of Great Britain took the bronze medal, the nation's first in the free pistol.
Jin Jong-oh is a South Korean sports shooter who competed at the 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. The only individual four-time Olympic champion in shooting, he is the most successful individual shooter at the Olympics, being the only athlete to have won three consecutive Olympic gold medals in an event in shooting. He holds the world record in both 10 metre air pistol and 50 metre pistol and held the final world record in 50 metre pistol until Jitu Rai broke it in 2017.

After that, Albania boycotted the next four games for political reasons, as part of the 1980 Summer Olympics boycott, 1984 Summer Olympics boycott and the isolationist stance of Albania at the time. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he finished 4th in the qualifying round of the 10 metre air pistol, reaching the final with a score of 585. He finished 6th in the final round with a final score of 683.3. He also competed in the 50 m pistol, finishing in 22nd place.
Ásgeir Sigurgeirsson is an Icelandic sport shooter who competes in the men's 10 metre air pistol. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he finished 14th in the qualifying round, failing to make the cut for the final. He also took part in the 50 metre pistol, finishing in 32nd place.

In the 50 metre pistol, he reached the final, finishing 5th. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he finished 21st in the qualifying round in the men's 10 m air pistol, failing to make the cut for the final. He also failed to make the final round in the 50 metre pistol, where he finished 20th.
Patrick Scheuber is a Swiss sport shooter who competes in the men's 10 metre air pistol. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he finished 32nd in the qualifying round, failing to make the cut for the final.
Roger Peter Daniel is a Trinidad and Tobago sport shooter who competes in the men's 10 metre air pistol and men's 50 metre pistol. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he finished 36th in the qualifying round of the 10 metre air pistol competition, failing to make the cut for the final. He came 35th in the 50 metre pistol event.
Vyacheslav Podlesnyy is a Kazakhstani sport shooter who competes in the men's 10 metre air pistol. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he finished 40th in the qualifying round, failing to make the cut for the final. He also competed in the 50 metre pistol event, finishing 34th and also not qualifying for the final.
Claudia Verdicchio-Krause is a German female sport shooter. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's 10 metre air pistol and the Women's 25 metre pistol, finishing 20th in the 10 metre event and 26th in the 50 metre event.
Yang Wang is a New Zealand sport shooter of Chinese origin. Yang represented his adopted nation New Zealand at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he competed in the men's 10 m air pistol. He finished only in thirty-ninth place by two points behind Germany's Florian Schmidt from the final attempt, for a total score of 571 targets.
Hans-Jörg Meyer is a German sport shooter. He won a silver medal in the men's 50 m free pistol at the 2009 European Shooting Championships in Osijek, Croatia, accumulating a score of 653.8 targets.
Norbelis Bárzaga Vázquez is a Cuban sport shooter. He had won a total of three medals in pistol shooting at the Pan American Games, and was selected to represent Cuba in two editions of the Olympic Games. Throughout his sporting career, Barzaga trained as a member of the shooting team for Granma City Sport Club under his personal coach Narciso López.
Vladimir Nikolayevich Issachenko is a Kazakh sport shooter. He finished sixth in free pistol shooting at the 2004 Summer Olympics, and eventually won a bronze medal in the standard pistol at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. Having pursued the sport since the age of eleven, Issachenko trained as a member of the shooting team for Dynamo Sport Club in Almaty under his personal coach and two-time Olympic bronze medalist Vladimir Vokhmyanin.
Oman competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, when the event was held from 5 to 21 August 2016. This was the nation's ninth consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics. Four Omani athletes, two men and two women, were selected to compete in athletics and shooting at the Games. Among them were sprinter Barakat Al-Harthi, the lone returning Olympian from the previous Games.
