The Departed
The 11th Florida Film Critics Circle Awards, given by the Florida Film Critics Circle on 22 December 2006, honored the best in film for 2006.
The Departed from director Martin Scorsese received 4 awards, including Best Picture, Director and Supporting Actor (Jack Nicholson). The awards for best lead acting went to Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland) and Mirren (The Queen).
Pan's Labyrinth is a 2006 gothic dark fantasy film written, directed and co-produced by Guillermo del Toro. The film stars Ivana Baquero, Sergi López, Maribel Verdú, Doug Jones, and Ariadna Gil.
The New York Film Critics Online (NYFCO) is an organization co-founded by Harvey S. Karten and Prairie Miller in 2000, composed of Internet film critics based in New York City. The group meets once a year, in December, for voting on its annual NYFCO Awards. Prairie Miller, Avi Offer and Karen Benardello form the NYFCO's Governing Committee, and members include such vet and influential critics as Rex Reed, Armond White, Stephanie Zacharek, and Emanuel Levy.
