Fly Project is a Romanian dance group from Bucharest, Romania, created in 2005 by Tudor Ionescu. [1]

Career

Tudor Ionescu and Dan Deneș release their debut album Fly Project, in 2005. Their first single, "Raisa", was number one in Romania.

In 2007, Fly Project released "K-tinne", another instant success which got them many music awards including the Romanian Top Hits Best Dance and Romanian Top Hits Best Song awards. This was just a prequel to their second album, which registered record sales and broke all booking milestones, managing to secure the most concert bookings in one year.

Following their short musical hits, the band released "Brasil", which similarly topped charts in Romania, [2] Russia, Greece, Spain, Moldova, Turkey, the Netherlands, Serbia and Hungary[ citation needed ]. Furthermore, the single was nominated for "Best Dance Song" at Romanian Music Awards. [3]

Annually, their next hit singles, "Mandala", "Goodbye", "Musica", "Back In My Life" and "Toca Toca" kept Fly Project as number 1 in the International music charts, from Russia to The Netherlands, India, Greece and Latin America. Fly Project latest single, "Toca Toca" was very popular countries like Italy, Russia, Ukraine, France, Spain, Mexico, Turkey and it continues to be in the music top charts going up even after one year after being released. Fly Project hits again with "Toca Toca" and gets a new Gold Disc for the units they sold in Italy.

In 2014, they won "Best Dance Award", with "Toca Toca", and the "Border Breaker Award", for their international success, at the Romanian Music Awards, marking one of the most important events in the Romanian music industry. Eska Awards is another important event, which takes place in the fall of 2014 in Poland, where Fly Project conquers the audience with its hits. Also, in September 2014, Fly Project took a part in television show Jaka la Melodia, awarded for TV entertainment in Poland. In November 2014, Fly Project has an exceptional show at the Gran Canaria 40 Pop Fashion & Friends, an event of the 40 Principal's radio network in the Canary Islands. With over 40,000 participants, the venue had better stage lighting and monitor system.

In 2015, the group began collaboration with Like a Star. After continuing #MostWanted international tour in June 2015, Fly Project released "So High". In their eleventh anniversary, they released "Next To You". In March 2016, Tudor and Dan released "Tenerife", featuring Romanian artist Misha and DJ Sava. Furthermore, they collaborated for single "Jolie". In the fall of 2016, Fly Project released "Butterfly", featuring Andra and in 2019, they released "Mexico".

As of 2021, Ionescu became the sole member of Fly Project. [4]

He subsequently released several singles after the success of Sexy Thing such as Temptation and Fantasy. He is best known for his long time collaborations with singer Dony from the band Refflex.

"Amazing" is a song recorded by Romanian singer Inna for her 2009 debut studio album, Hot. It was released as the fourth single from the record on 6 August 2009. Written and produced by Play & Win members Sebastian Barac, Radu Bolfea and Marcel Botezan, "Amazing" is a Pop Music track with a Spanish guitar and beats in its instrumentation. One reviewer regarded the song as being similar to Inna's past work, however, with the addition of new elements. Other music critics gave positive reviews of the single, and praised its construction and foresaw its commercial success.

It was released as a CD single in 2010 by TVR, TMC and AXR labels. Partly influenced by opera music, the track was written by Ovi and produced by Simen M. Eriksrud. The lyrics of "Playing with Fire" portray a fight between a male and a female, with a reviewer speculating that it revolved around arson, a crime of intentionally, deliberately and maliciously setting fire to buildings or other properties with the intent to cause damage.

Written by the group, the song was first released on 16 June 2009 in Romania and on 6 August 2009 for digital download and streaming in the United States through Universal Music Romania.

Alexandra Ioana Stan is a Romanian singer. Born in Constanța, she made her worldwide breakthrough with the 2010 single "Mr. Saxobeat", which was written and produced by Marcel Prodan and Andrei Nemirschi. They had previously discovered Stan at a karaoke bar in 2009 and signed her to their label, Maan Records. "Mr. Saxobeat" had followed the singer's debut single, "Lollipop " (2009), which brought her moderate fame in Romania. "Mr. Saxobeat" quickly achieved commercial success locally and abroad, reaching number one in several countries and gathering various certifications. Saxobeats, Stan's debut studio album, was released in August 2011 and features the follow-up singles "Get Back (ASAP)" (2011) and "Lemonade" (2012), which had moderate success in Europe.

Musically, "Get Back (ASAP)" is a dance song with jazz accents, containing a saxophone in its instrumentation. Music critics were positive towards the recording, praising its catchiness, while also comparing it to its predecessor, "Mr. Saxobeat" (2010). "Get Back (ASAP)" also received an award in the Pop/Dance Song of the Year category at the 2012 Radio România Actualități Awards.

"Lemonade" is a song recorded by Romanian singer and songwriter Alexandra Stan for her Japan-only reissue, Cliché (2013). It was released for radio airplay in Italy on 12 June 2012, followed by its digital release on 14 June 2012 through MediaPro Music in Romania and on 1 August 2012 in Japan. Written and produced by Marcel Prodan and Andrei Nemirschi, the single incorporates EDM, reggae-pop and dubstep into its composition; it makes use of harmonica and accordions. Upon its release, "Lemonade" was met with positive reviews from music critics, with them naming it "catchy", "fresh" and a highlight, while one of them foresaw it as having a strong radio performance. It also drew comparations to the works of Britney Spears, Kelis and Lady Gaga. At the Radio România Actualități Awards gala in 2013, the recording received a nomination for Radio România Junior.

The Romanian Music Awards, or simply RMA, are a Romanian annual event awarding the best artists in Romania's music scene. It is organized by Music Channel Romania and has taken place in various locations in the country. It was held from 2002 until 2014, and returned in 2022.

DJ Layla is a Romanian music project, produced by Radu Sirbu (O-Zone) and Sianna. The 2009 single "Single Lady" won the "Most airplayed songs 2009" at Radio România Actualităţi Awards and reached the top 40 charts in Romania, Moldova and Russia.

Carla's Dreams is a music project from Moldova, formed in 2012 in Chișinău. The band is composed of an anonymous group of singers and composers who perform their songs in Romanian, English and Russian. Their lead singer, codenamed Sergiu, and his bandmates all hide their identity in public appearances by wearing hooded sweatshirts, sunglasses and a face mask made of makeup. Carla's Dreams rose to prominence in Moldova and Romania upon releasing the single "P.O.H.U.I." with Inna in 2013, and have since then issued nine singles that went on to be number-one singles in Romania.

<i>Party Never Ends</i> 2013 studio album by Inna

Party Never Ends is the third studio album recorded by Romanian singer Inna, released on 4 March 2013 by Roton, and re-issued on 14 October 2014, by Atlantic Records in the US. The singer collaborated with several producers on the record, including DJ Frank E, Orange Factory, Steve Mac, Lucas Secon, DJ Smash and Play & Win. Party Never Ends has been described as approaching dance music and its subgenres, with influences varying from Latin, hip hop and house to electropop, salsa and dubstep. The Times of India gave the album a mixed review; while commending some tracks, other were deemed passable or mediocre.
