Flynn is an unincorporated community in Benton County, Oregon, United States. [1] Flynn is located on U.S. Route 20 at its interchange with Oregon Route 34, just west of Philomath, near the Marys River.
Benton County is one of the 36 counties in the U.S. state of Oregon. As of the 2020 census, the population was 95,184. Its county seat is Corvallis. The county was named after Thomas Hart Benton, a U.S. Senator who advocated American control over the Oregon Country. Benton County is designated as the Corvallis, OR Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Portland–Vancouver–Salem, OR–WA Combined Statistical Area. It is in the Willamette Valley.

Union Cemetery was donated by Reuben Shipley and his wife Mary Jane Holmes Shipley Drake with the stipulation that both Black people and white people could be buried there. The Shipleys were former slaves who donated 3 acres of their land on May 1, 1861. Mt. Union was the first cemetery in the region to permit burials of multiple races.
