Focus is a Polish popular science monthly magazine which was a print publication between 1995 and 2022. It became online-only publication from February 2022. [1]

Contents

History and profile

Focus was first published in September 1995 by Gruner and Jahr Polska and then was owned by Burda Media Polska. [2] The magazine has its headquarters in Warsaw. [3]

It features stories on health, coaching, space exploration, technology, nature, society and history and produces a number of podcasts ran by the members of the editorial team. [4]

Janusz Ryszard Korwin-Mikke, also known by his initials JKM or simply as Korwin, is a Polish far-right politician, paleolibertarian and author. He was a member of the European Parliament from 2014 until 2018. He was the leader of the Congress of the New Right (KNP), which was formed in 2011 from Liberty and Lawfulness, which he led from its formation in 2009, and the Real Politics Union, which he led from 1990 to 1997 and from 1999 to 2003. Currently, he is the chairman of the party KORWiN, and since 2019 he is a member of the Sejm, elected from the electoral list of Confederation Liberty and Independence.

Focus is a German-language news magazine published by Hubert Burda Media. Established in 1993 as an alternative to the Der Spiegel weekly news magazine, since 2015 the editorial staff has been headquartered in Germany's capital of Berlin. Alongside Spiegel and Stern, Focus is one of the three most widely circulated German weeklies. The concept originated from Hubert Burda and Helmut Markwort, who went from being Editor-in-chief to become publisher in 2009 and since 2017 has been listed in the publication's masthead as founding editor-in-chief. As of March 2016 the editor-in-chief of Focus was Robert Schneider.
