The following is a list of notable current and defunct magazines in Poland. In the country, there are also English-language magazines in addition to those published in Polish.

In terms of frequency, the Polish magazines are mostly weeklies and monthlies. [1] Magazines targeting youth and university students also exist in the country. [2] As of 2013, women magazines were significant part of the press market in the country. [3] In addition, Poland has a long tradition of architecture magazines. [4] The first architecture magazine, Przegląd Techniczny , was published in Kraków in 1875. [4] The country has also aviation magazines. [5]

The number of magazines was 5,792 in 2001 whereas it increased to 6,261 in 2003. [6] In 2014 the magazine market in the country was described as one of the higher-growth, smaller-scale markets. [7]

The mass media in Poland consist of several different types of communications media including television, radio, cinema, newspapers, magazines, and Internet. During the communist regime in Poland the Stalinist press doctrine dominated and controlled Polish media. The country instituted freedom of press since the fall of communism. The Polish media system's main features are the product of the country's socio-political and economic post-communist transition. These features include: the privatisation of the press sector; the transformation of the state radio and television into public broadcasting services; influx of foreign capital into the media market and European integration of audiovisual media policies. Today the media landscape is very plural but highly polarized along political and ideological divides.

<i>Gazeta Wyborcza</i> Polish daily newspaper

Gazeta Wyborcza is a Polish nationwide daily newspaper based in Warsaw, Poland. It was launched on 8 May 1989 on the basis of the Polish Round Table Agreement and as a press organ of the trade union "Solidarity" in the election campaign before the Contract Sejm. Initially created to cover Poland's first partially free parliamentary elections, it rapidly grew into a major publication, reaching a circulation of over 500,000 copies at its peak in the 1990s.

Poznań–Ławica Henryk Wieniawski Airport, built in 1913, is one of the oldest airports in Poland. It is located 5 km (3.1 mi) west of Poznań city centre. It takes its name from the neighborhood of Ławica, part of the city's Grunwald district, while the airport actually lies in the Jeżyce district.

Jerzy Turowicz was a leading Polish Catholic journalist and editor for much of the post-Second World War period. He was editor of the Catholic weekly magazine Tygodnik Powszechny from 1945 until his death in 1999, except for three years in the early 1950s.

The All-Polish Youth refers to two inter-linked Polish far-right ultranationalist youth organizations, with a Catholic-nationalist philosophy. Its agenda declares that its aim is "to raise Polish youth in a Catholic and patriotic spirit".

Agnieszka Graff-Osser is a Polish writer, translator, commentator, feminist and women's and human rights activist. She studied at Oxford University, Amherst College and graduated from School of Social Sciences at Polish Academy of Sciences. She completed her PhD in English literature in 1999. In 2001, she published World without women, which was nominated to Nike Award in 2002. She works at the Warsaw University's Institute of the Americas and Europe and gives lectures on gender studies.

The 19th-century Catholic periodical literature is unique in many respects. Most of the periodical publications in mainly Catholic countries can be regarded as "Catholic" literature up to a few decades before 1800: the editorial line is implicitly Catholic in most instances.

The Giedroyc doctrine or Giedroyc–Mieroszewski doctrine was a political doctrine that urged reconciliation among Central and Eastern European countries. It was developed by postwar Polish émigrés, and was named for Jerzy Giedroyc, a Polish émigré publicist, with significant contributions by Juliusz Mieroszewski for whom it is also sometimes named.

Dziennik Gazeta Prawna is a Polish legal and business daily newspaper, headquartered in Warsaw and published from Monday to Friday. The paper focuses on law, taxes and finances. The publisher of DGP is Infor Biznes, a Polish publishing company.

Dariusz Gawin is a Polish historian and sociologist, deputy director of the Warsaw Uprising Museum dedicated to the memory of the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, and located in the Wola district of Warsaw, Poland. Gawin serves as an Adiunkt at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is a contributor to leading Polish magazines such as Przegląd Polityczny, Res Publica Nowa, Tygodnik Powszechny and Rzeczpospolita, as well as historical and scientific journals such as Teologia Polityczna and Krytyka Polityczna. He was the host of a TV programme Trzeci punkt widzenia at TVP Kultura.

Szymon Franciszek Hołownia is a Polish politician and television personality currently serving as Marshal of the Sejm since 13 November 2023. From 2008 to 2019 he co-hosted Mam talent!, the Polish version of Got Talent, together with Marcin Prokop. He was an independent presidential candidate in the 2020 elections, coming in third place in the first round of the elections. He is the leader of the Poland 2050 political party.

Sieci, also stylised as W Sieci, wSieci, or Tygodnik Sieci; is a right-wing weekly magazine published in Poland.

The tombakowa młodzież were members of a youth subculture in Warsaw during World War II.
