Miasto Kobiet (English: Women's City) is a Polish magazine dedicated to women. It has been issued bi-monthly since its founding in 2004. [1] [2] Miasto Kobiet is the organizer of recurring clothing swaps in Poland. The magazine is available in paper format as well as in electronic format, and has its own website. The founder and editor-in-chief of Miasto Kobiet is Aneta Pondo. [3] Columnists for the magazine include Hanna Bakuła.

Topics

The magazine is divided into three main sections: City, Style, and Body and Mind. Topics covered include fashion, with an emphasis on Polish fashion designers, and the lives of celebrities. Another focus of Miasto Kobiet is on events in the cities of Cracow and Warsaw; articles are directed especially to women from those cities, and there is coverage of procedures available in the local spas. Miasto Kobiet is available, free of charge, in selected coffee shops, restaurants, office towers, spas and boutiques, and at events in the Cracow [5] and Warsaw areas. [4] [6]

Social events

Miasto Kobiet organizes several recurring events: Szafobranie z Miastem Kobiet, Szafobranko, and Srebrne Lustra. [8] [9]

Szafobranie (English: wardrobe picking) is the first recurring swap event in Cracow, and is held every two months. The participants of Szafobranie exchange clothes between themselves. [9] [10] [11]

Szafobranko (English: baby wardrobe picking) is a non-cash exchange for baby's and children's clothing and accessories, which is also held in the city of Cracow. [12] [13]

Srebrne Lustra (English: silver mirrors) is a plebiscite for the best beauty salons. [14] [15]

Joanna Horodyńska is a Polish model and television stylist. she started her career as a model, and is now active on television as a stylist and presenter. She is also the designer of a clothing collection.

Gaja Grzegorzewska Polish novelist

Marika (singer) Polish vocalist, songwriter and radio DJ (born 1980)

Marika is a Polish vocalist, songwriter and radio DJ. Currently performing avant-pop, she was previously known for her Caribbean-inspired repertoire which incorporated reggae, dancehall, as well as funk and soul music. She was hailed "the First Lady of Polish dancehall" and was noted for energetic shows and conscious lyrics. She also had a short-lived but successful career as a prime time TV host in Poland.

Floriańska Street

Floriańska Street or St. Florian's Street is one of the main streets in Kraków Old Town and one of the most famous promenades in the city. The street forms part of the regular grid plan of Stare Miasto, the merchants' town that extends the medieval heart of the city, which was drawn up in 1257 after the destruction of the city during the first Mongol invasion of Poland of 1241.

Diana Reiter

Diana Reiter [Reiterówna] was a Polish architect of Jewish descent, one of the first female architects in Kraków. Born in Drohobycz, in 1927 she graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of Lviv Polytechnic. In the years 1928-1931 she worked in the Directorate of Public Works of the Provincial Office in Kraków with two other architects, Zdzisław Kowalski and Adam Moscheni. In the years 1930-1931 she was a technical officer, gave opinions on the designs of newly built buildings in Krynica and dealt with appeals against decisions of the Kraków construction authorities. At the request of the provincial conservator of monuments she dealt with the restoration of the royal castle in Niepołomice. Due to the economic situation, she was dismissed at the end of 1931. In 1932-1934 she worked in the office of Kazimierz Kulczyński, making architectural drawings.
