Fonografika Sp. j. is the largest independent Polish record label, it was founded in 2001 by Jacek Caba, and he actively ran until 2014. [1]
The label is accredited with the rise of Hip-Hop in Poland and has over the years given a push to the majority of Hip Hop releases in Poland. However, since its foundation the label has released albums in many genres; hip-hop, pop, pop rock, heavy metal, jazz and classical music. In total the catalogue comprises some 5000 releases, some of which are: Hanna Banaszak, Made of Hate, Mandaryna, Normalsi, Peja, Slums Attack, Skaldowie, TZN Xenna, Vesania, Apteka, Maria Sadowska and Rootwater. In 2014 the label became a subject of criticism based on lack of payouts to artists Flint, Guova and Kajman. [32] [33] [34] [35] [36] Contrary to the popular belief those artists were not signed to the label. [37] However Fonografika distributed the smaller labels (Juicey Juice Nagrania, Onit and Rapton Records) who were responsible and released the albums of the artist who made the public complaint. Later the artists wrote an open apology to Fonografika and the issue was put to rest.
Adam Andrzej Ostrowski, better known as O.S.T.R., is a Polish rapper, musician, audio engineer and record producer, famous for his freestyle rap skills, ambitious lyrics and unique beats. He graduated from the Academy of Music in Łódź, violin class. He is one of the few Polish rappers who have received professional musical education. He has collaborated with American rappers such as Evidence, El Da Sensei, Craig G, Keith Murray, Jeru The Damaja, Lil' Dap, Sadat X and Canadian producer Marco Polo. He has also collaborated with many Polish artists, including jazz musicians Michał Urbaniak, Hades, SOFA, Fokus, DJ Deszczu Strugi, DonGURALesko, Vienio i Pelson, Fu, Pezet, Sistars and Slums Attack. He is a member of bands such as Tabasko, Skill Mega, Killing Skills, Beat Brothers and musical project POE. He is also a former member of Obóz TA and LWC. In 2013, he shared the position of art director of Męskie Granie festival with alternative rock vocalist Kasia Nosowska.
Michał Bajor is a Polish actor and musician. Bajor’s songs are based on texts by Wojciech Młynarski, Jonasz Kofta, Andrzej Ozga, Marcin Sosnowski, and Julian Tuwim. He is a member of the Academy of the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry.
Mirosław Maciej Maleńczuk, also known as Vladimir, is a Polish vocalist, guitarist, poet, former leader of music groups Püdelsi and Homo Twist. Verba is a Polish band from Piła formed in 1997. It originated from the Pop music group Squad Centralny. At first Bartek and Ignacy represented different music styles such as. Later they became fascinated with hip-hop, at which point they began composing hip-hop music with Rap elements. Bartek took care of composing the songs, while at first Ignacy wrote the lyrics. Later, both of them attended to the lyrics. rap became a prevailing characteristic of their compositions and hip-hop took second stage.
Maria Teresa Peszek is a Polish singer, songwriter and actress. She embarked on a professional acting career in the early 1990s and went on to appear in over 40 stage plays, as well as a number of feature films and television series. In 2005, Peszek released her debut album, the commercially successful and critically acclaimed Miasto mania, followed by Maria Awaria (2008) and Jezus Maria Peszek (2012) which both topped the Polish albums chart and received favourable reviews. Peszek is noted for controversial lyrics and subjects of her work, often revolving around sexuality, politics, social norms and religion.
Ryszard "Peja" Andrzejewski is a Polish rap musician, songwriter and producer. He is best known as the frontman of the Polish rap group Slums Attack. Peja was the recipient of the Fryderyk prize in 2002. In 2001 he played a role in the documentary movie "Blokersi". He has been featured in The New York Times and The Source. The Slums Attack broke up in 2016.

In 2018, his album Egzotyka was nominated for Empik Bestseller award in the Polish Music category.
