Fort Kluskus was a Hudson's Bay Company fort and trading post located near the Kluskus Lakes on the northern perimeter of the Chilcotin District of the Central Interior of British Columbia, Canada. Established in 1844 it was effectively a relocation of trading operations from Fort Chilcotin farther south, which had failed due to disinterest and resistance by the Tsilhqot'in people. Fort Kluskus did not succeed due to already-established strong trade relations between the local Dakelh people and coastal peoples.
The Tsilhqotʼin or Chilcotin are a North American Tribal government of the Athabaskan-speaking ethnolinguistic group that live in what is now known as British Columbia, Canada. They are the most southern of the Athabaskan-speaking Indigenous peoples in British Columbia.

Fort Chilcotin was a short-lived trading post of the Hudson's Bay Company, located at the confluence of the Chilko and Chilcotin Rivers, British Columbia, Canada. It operated between the years 1836 and 1844. A commercial failure due to the lack of interest in the company merchandise shown by the Tsilhqot'in people, its operations were moved north to Fort Kluskus in Dakelh Territory. Today, the site where the fort used to stand is colloquially known as "Hudson's Bay Flats" - remembered particularly by the Tsilhqot'in as the site where, during the Chilcotin War, Lhats'as?in and the other Tsilhqot'in war chiefs were arrested for murder.
The Niut Range is 3600 km² in area. It is a subrange of the Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, although in some classifications it is considered part of the Chilcotin Ranges. The Niut is located in the angle of the Homathko River and its main west fork, Mosley Creek. It is isolated, island-like, by those rivers from its neighbour ranges, as both streams have their source on the Chilcotin Plateau in behind the range. Razorback Mountain is its highest peak.
The West Road River or Blackwater River is an important tributary of the Fraser River, flowing generally north-eastward from the northern slopes of the Ilgachuz Range and across the Fraser Plateau in the Chilcotin region of central British Columbia, Canada. With only one major tributary, the Nazko River, its confluence with the Fraser is approximately 40 km northwest of Quesnel. It forms the division between the Chilcotin Plateau (S) and the Nechako Plateau (N), which are subdivisions of the Fraser Plateau.
Shuswap Lake Marine Provincial Park is an 896-hectare provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, comprising 991 ha. The Park has a variety of amenities including boat launch ramps, picnic areas, and 27 campsites around the perimeter of Shuswap Lake. The lake's name and that of the surrounding Shuswap Country is from the Shuswap people (Secwepemc), the most northern of the Salishan speaking people.

The High Bar First Nation is a First Nations government of the Secwepemc (Shuswap) Nation, located in the Fraser Canyon-Cariboo region of the Central Interior of the Canadian province of British Columbia. It was created when the government of the then-Colony of British Columbia established an Indian Reserve system in the 1860s. It is one of three Secwepemc bands that is not a member of either the Shuswap Nation Tribal Council or the Northern Shuswap Tribal Council. The High Bar people are also partly Tsilhqot'in and have links with some Chilcotin First Nations.

The Tl'etinqox-t'in Government Office is a First Nations government located in the Chilcotin District in the western Central Interior region of the Canadian province of British Columbia. Governing a reserve communities near Alexis Creek known as Anaham Reserve First Nations or Anaham, it is a member of the Tsilhqot'in Tribal Council aka known as the Tsilhqot'in National Government. The main reserve is officially known as Anahim's Flat No. 1, and is more commonly as Anaham. Other reserves are Anahim's Meadow No. 2 and 2A, and Anahim Indian Reserves Nos. 3 through 18. Anaham, or Anahim and Alexis were chiefs of the Tsilhqot'in during the Chilcotin War of 1864, although they and their people did not take part in the hostilities.

Canadian Forces Camp Chilcotin is a Canadian Forces training camp in the Chilcotin District, to the west of the city of Williams Lake on the eastern Chilcotin Plateau. The 40977 hectares of land is currently owned by the Federal Government. Within its boundaries, the so-called "Military Block" contains Drummond (Island) Lake, Fish Lake, Callanan Lake, as well as innumerable other small lakes. It also contains the Volcanic Neck, Danilʔaz, and parts of Beecher Prairie.
Lama Passage, sometimes referred to as Lama Pass, is a strait on the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada, between Denny, Campbell and Hunter Islands. It is part of the Inside Passage shipping route, connecting Seaforth Channel with Fisher Channel. It was named for a Hudson's Bay Company brigantine, the Lama, under Captain McNeill, which with another HBC vessel, the Dryad under Captain Kipling, brought building materials and stores from Fort Vancouver for the founding of Fort McLoughlin in 1833.
The Kluskus Lakes are a group of lakes on the northern perimeter of the Chilcotin District of the Central Interior of British Columbia, Canada. They are located east of Tsacha Lake and south of the Euchiniko Lakes and are part of the drainage of the West Road River. Fort Kluskus was located in the vicinity, which today includes numerous Indian Reserves of the eponymous Kluskus First Nation. The Kluskus Hills are also located between the Kluskus Lakes and the Euchiniko Lakes. "Kluskus" is the english rendering of the Carrier language word lhoosk'uz, meaning "the side of the fish is white".
