NCAA Division I (D-I) is the highest level of intercollegiate athletics sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States, which accepts players globally. D-I schools include the major collegiate athletic powers, with large budgets, more elaborate facilities and more athletic scholarships than Divisions II and III as well as many smaller schools committed to the highest level of intercollegiate competition.

The Eastern Independent League (EIL) is composed of eleven New England preparatory schools that compete athletically and academically. The EIL's eleven members compete in a number of sports in the New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC).

The Catholic Central League (CCL) is a high school athletic conference in district H of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association. Most league members are schools with Catholic affiliations. The league is based mostly in the eastern part of Massachusetts.
The Six Schools League (SSL) is an association of six New England college-preparatory schools that compete in high school sports. It was founded in 2015, and is loosely affiliated with the Eight Schools Association. The SSL is not a registered league under the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC), but each of its members is a NEPSAC member, and its members participate in NEPSAC post-season competitions.
