Sweet and Innocent is a compilation album by British heavy metal band Diamond Head, released in 1988. It largely contains tracks off the band's 1980 debut album Lightning to the Nations, with the non-LP single "Waited Too Long", and its B-side "Play It Loud", and "Streets of Gold", which was the B-side to Diamond Head's 1980 single "Sweet and Innocent". Although all of these non-LP singles featured here later appeared on a re-released version of Diamond Head's debut by Sanctuary Records in 2001.
Lightning to the Nations is the debut album by British heavy metal band Diamond Head. The album was recorded in 1979 and released in 1980 through Happy Face Records, a label owned by the producer Muff Murfin of The Old Smithy studio of Worcester, due to lack of interest from major labels and the band feeling that they needed to get the ball rolling as other bands from the same era, such as Iron Maiden and Def Leppard, were already becoming big names. It was originally released in a plain white sleeve with no title or track listing, and was subsequently named after the first track on the album. Metal Blade Records re-released it on CD in 1992. In 2001, it was re-issued in its original "White Album" form by Sanctuary Records, featuring seven bonus tracks that were featured on singles and EPs from this era.

"Army of Me" is a song recorded by Icelandic musician Björk for her second studio album Post (1995). It was released on 21 April 1995 by One Little Indian as the lead single from the album. The song was written and produced by Björk and Graham Massey, who helped her in producing and writing the majority of her third album. Lyrically, the industrial rock song was inspired by the damaging behavior of Björk's brother, and in the lyrics she tells him to stand up and to regain control of his life. It was well received by music critics, who noted its darkness and praised Björk's energy. "Army of Me" was a commercial success and the first single from Björk to enter the top 10 on the UK Singles Chart.
Abruptum is a Swedish black metal and dark ambient solo side-project band. It is run by Evil of Marduk, but the band was formed in 1989 by IT. All, Ext and Evil joined the band later. IT was one of the leaders of the True Satanist Horde, part of the Swedish Black metal scene. Euronymous, co-founder of Mayhem and founder of Deathlike Silence Productions, described Abruptum as "the audial essence of pure black evil".

The band was one of the first to combine elements of heavy metal with a hardcore punk base, pioneering a heavier style of hardcore that would create many bands in the following decades. Formed in late 1984, the band stayed together until 1998, through numerous lineup changes and shifts in musical style. In October 2004, the band reunited and gave two shows at New York City's CBGB Club.

The song was written by vocalist Sean Harris and guitarist Brian Tatler and released via Happy Face Records, a label owned by the producer Muff Murfin of The Old Smithy studio of Worcester, England. The song was immediately popular among heavy metal circles in the United Kingdom around the time of its release, but only rose to international prominence after Metallica covered it as a B-side on their "Creeping Death" single in 1984; the cover was re-released on their 1998 covers album Garage Inc. The song was influenced by the Black Sabbath song "Symptom of the Universe."

Live – In the Heat of the Night is a live album by British heavy metal band Diamond Head, recorded at the Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall during their 1991 comeback tour. It was originally a video bootleg, but was released on the insistence of their manager Steve Guard in 2000, in tribute to the band's live sound after their breakup after the Death and Progress album in 1994. It contains a thank-you note from vocalist Sean Harris on the inner sleeve. The band ended up reforming in late 2000 to perform some acoustic numbers in order to promote this album with Floyd Brennan ending in the release of the First Cuts EP.
