Francesc Tur Blanch (born 31 January 1977) is a wheelchair tennis player from Spain. He has competed in the men's single and doubles events representing Spain at the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Summer Paralympics. His top international singles world ranking was 19th, a rank he held in August 2010.

Personal

Tur was born on 31 January 1977 in Barcelona, [1] [2] [3] and is a paraplegic. [1] [2] He is from the Catalan region of Spain. [4]

Wheelchair tennis

Tur is left handed, [3] and started playing tennis when he was 22 years old. [3]

Tur competed at the 2004 Summer Paralympics. [1] [2] He played doubles with Mira Christian where the pair lost to a Polish doubles pair in the round of 32. [3] He beat Laurent Fischer of France in the round of 64 before losing to Martin Legner of Austria in the round of 32. [3] He competed in the 2006 Sarreguemines Open 2006. [1] [2] In July 2006, he was ranked twenty-fourth in the world in doubles tennis, his best ever world ranking in this event. [3] He competed in the 2006 Israel Open. [1] [2] He competed in the 2006 Chile open. [1] [2] At the time, he was ranked 39th in the world. [5] He competed in the Spanish national championships in 2006. [1] He has also won the Wheelchair Tennis Lleida City Open after defeating Álvaro Illobre 6-0 and 6–1 in the final. At the time, he was ranked 50th internationally. He also won the doubles final playing with Illobre against the pair of Valera — Chamizo by 6-4 and 6–1. [6]

Tur competed at the 2008 Summer Paralympics, [1] [2] losing to Japan players Shingo Kunieda and Satoshi Saida in the doubles event while playing with Illobre 6–1, 6–1. [7] At the 2009 ITF 2 Series PTR/ROHO Championships, he lost to third seeded British player David Phillipson 6-1 and 6–1 in the semi-finals. [8] In 2010, he was the top ranked Spanish male singles wheelchair tennis player. [9] [10] In August 2010, he had his best ever world ranking in singles tennis when he ranked nineteenth. [3] In 2011, he won the Spanish national master's wheelchair tennis open. He won the event after defeating Daniel Caverzaschi 3–6, 6-3 and 10–4 at the Valencia Open. [4] [11] [12] [13] In June 2012, he played in an ATP event in Spain that included a wheelchair tennis exhibition. [14]

At the 2012 Paralympic Games, Tur finished ninth in the doubles event and thirty-third in the singles event. [2] He played doubles with Daniel Caverzaschi, defeating a Nigerean doubles team in the round of 32 before losing to a pair from Sweden. [3] [15] In September 2012, he was honored at his hometown Alcobendas's townhall for his participation in the London Games. [15]

Alejandro Zarzuela Beltrán is a Spanish 3 point wheelchair basketball player. He has represented Spain as a member of the national team at the 2012 Summer Paralympics and at the U-23 European Championships. As a club wheelchair basketball player in Spain, he has played all but two seasons on the same team with his twin brother, Pablo. Jaume Llambi Spanish wheelchair basketball player

Jaume Llambi Riera is a wheelchair basketball player and table tennis player from Spain. A paraplegic as a result of a car accident when he was 8 years old, he went on to represent Spain at the 1992 Summer Paralympics in table tennis. He then switched sports to wheelchair basketball, making his national team debut in 1998. In 2012, he represented Spain in wheelchair basketball at the Paralympic Games in London where his team finished fifth.

Spain men's national wheelchair basketball team has represented Spain at the IWBF European Championships, IWBF World Championships and at the Paralympic Games. The team won a bronze at the 2013 European Championships. They finished fifth at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, and sixth at the 1992 Summer Paralympics. Spain also has a men's national under-22 team and under-23 team. The under-23 team finished second at the 2009 Paris European Championships.

Óscar Trigo Diez is a wheelchair basketball coach. Trigo was born on September 25, 1972 in Gracia, Barcelona. He has worked as a physical education teacher. In 2013, he lived in Sabadell.

Lola Ochoa Ribes is a Spanish wheelchair tennis player. A paraplegic as a result of an accident when she was 14, she picked up tennis as a wheelchair player following it. She has gone on to represent Spain at the 2004 Summer Paralympics, 2008 Summer Paralympics and 2012 Summer Paralympics, and the 2013 World Championships. In 2013, she was ranked 61st in the world.

Carlos Soler Marquez is a Spanish wheelchair fencer who has represented Spain at five Paralympic Games. Following the 2012 Games, he retired from the sport. He is also a fencing administrator and coach, having organized a World Cup event at the fencing club where he is president.

Elena Jacinto Velez is a Spanish wheelchair tennis player, whose best world ranking has been 24th. She competed at the 2012 Summer Paralympics. She trains with and is a doubles partner with fellow Spaniard, Lola Ochoa Ribes.
