Francisco "Paco" C. Ventura, also known as Paquito, was a pioneer of motor racing in the Philippines in the 1960s. The Golden Wheel Awards Foundation inducted him into the Hall of Fame on March 3, 2012. [1] This award was presented to Ventura by Dante Silverio in the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino Theatre in the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
Ventura was born in 1931 in Manila, Philippines. Born into a family of 12 siblings, he was the youngest of 4 brothers. Ventura's interest in racing began in 1956, when, while stopping at a red light, a car approached with the intent of racing. The car belonged to Conrado "Dodo" Ayuyao, who later became one of his closest friends. Ayuyao knew a group of car enthusiasts that met on Sundays. They tested their engine's performance by drag racing at Nielson Field in Makati. However, Ventura had other interests outside of racing. In 1958, he established his own business, Win-Dor Steel Mfg.
Ventura regularly met with other speed aficionados including Dodjie Laurel, Bob Smith, Ruben Saulog, Joe Cacho, Jun Campillo, Eugene, and Sam SyCip. Together with Ayuyao, this group formed the first official motor racing club in the Philippines, the Cam Wreckers Association.[ citation needed ] When trying to come up with a name, their mechanic kept interrupting and complaining that he needed more cam shafts because they were always breaking, hence, the start of the Cam Wreckers Club. The club's objective was to invite others to race cars, go-karts, boats and to compete locally and internationally.

Emanuele Pirro is an Italian racing driver who has raced in Formula One, touring cars and in endurance races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which he has won a total of five times. Two times Italian Karting Champion, Formula Fiat Abarth Champion (1980), two times Italian Touring Car Champion, two times Italian Overall Champion and German Touring Car Champion (1996), he also achieved records in endurance racing that place him amongst the best in the discipline, including; five wins in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, two times ALMS Champion, two times winner of the 12 Hours of Sebring, three times winner of Petit Le Mans, winner of the 24 Hours Nürburgring (1989), two times winner of the Macau Guia Race and two times winner of the Goodwood RAC Historic TT. He has taken part in over 500 official national and international races.
Robert Józef Kubica is a Polish racing and rally driver, currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship for AF Corse and in the European Le Mans Series for AO. Kubica competed in Formula One between 2006 and 2021 and in the World Rally Championship from 2013 to 2016; he won the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix with BMW Sauber, and remains the only Polish driver to compete in Formula One. In endurance racing, Kubica won the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship in the LMP2 class with WRT.

Arsenio "Dodjie" Hidalgo Laurel was a champion race car driver from the Philippines. He was the first two-time winner of the Macau Grand Prix, winning it consecutively in 1962 and 1963.
The Guia Circuit, or Circuito da Guia, is a 6.120 km (3.803 mi) street circuit located at the southeast region of the Macau Peninsula in Macau. It is the venue of the Macau Grand Prix, Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix and the Macau Guia Race. The circuit consists of long straights and tight corners, and features the characteristics of a typical street circuit - narrow, bumpy and limited overtaking opportunities. However, there are two special features that can rarely be found in other street circuits - variation in altitude and an ultra long main straight that allows top speed of 260 km/h (160 mph) on Formula Three cars. As a result, the circuit is recognised as one of the most challenging circuits in the world in terms of both driving and tuning, as cars have to maintain competitive speed to overcome hill-climbing, twisty corners and long straights in a single lap.

Motoring Today is a Philippine motoring and motorsports television program, premiered on 7 June 1987, hosted by its creator Ray Butch Gamboa and race car driver Pocholo Ramirez. In 2019, Ray Louis Gamboa and Suzy Gamboa replaced their father as the hosts. José "Pocholo" del Rosario Ramírez de Arellano, better known as Pocholo Ramírez, was a Filipino race car driver and television host. Also known as "Tito Poch", Ramirez was hailed as a racing legend in the Philippines, with a career in racing that spanned 45 years.

Beginning with his first race in 1961, Poon competed for the last time in 1982, the year before the race switched to Formula 3.
