Francisco Villanueva (born 29 April 1971) is a Mexican former professional boxer.

Professional career

During his professional career, Villanueva lost three times to Canelo Álvarez who would go on to become a multiple division world champion, once in 2006 and twice in 2008. [1] He also has losses to Michel Rosales, Miguel Vázquez, Roberto Ortiz, Jorge Páez, Jr., Michael Medina and Gilberto Ramírez. Villanueva's last bout came in 2019, after which he retired with a record of 15-36-3 (11 KOs) and a knockout-to-win ratio of 73.3%. [2]
