Francis Leslie "Frank" Madill AM,FRACGP (born 5 September 1941) is an Australian medical doctor and former politician,who was a Liberal Party member of the Tasmanian House of Assembly from 1986 until 2000.
He graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from the University of Melbourne in 1965,relocating to Tasmania in 1966 and becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1972.
Madill first entered parliament in the 1986 Tasmanian election in the electorate of Bass. He became the Speaker of the House of Assembly on 23 April 1996 he held the position until 1998. On 1 March 2000 he resigned due to illness.
Following his resignation from parliament,Madill again took up general practice as a doctor. He published a number of autobiographical novels,including Why Politics Doctor? Politics:Warts and All. He currently lectures in Human Life Sciences at the University of Tasmania.
In the 2014 Australia Day Honours,Madill was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to the Parliament of Tasmania,to medicine as a general practitioner,and to the community. [1]

Douglas Ackley Lowe AM was the 35th Premier of Tasmania,from 1 December 1977 to 11 November 1981. His time as Premier coincided with controversy over a proposal to build a dam on Tasmania's Gordon River,which would have flooded parts of the Franklin River. Michael Anthony Aird is a former Tasmanian politician. He was an ALP member of the Tasmanian Legislative Council in the Division of Derwent since 1995. Larissa Tahireh "Lara" Giddings is a former Australian politician who was the 44th Premier of Tasmania from 24 January 2011 until 31 March 2014,the first woman to hold the position. Born in Goroka,Papua New Guinea,she was a Labor Party member of the Tasmanian House of Assembly seat of Franklin from 2002 to 2018,and was the party's leader during her period as premier,replaced by Bryan Green after her government's defeat at the 2014 state election. Giddings came from the Labor Left faction. As of 2022,she remains the most recent premier of Tasmania from the Labor Party.

The 1909 Tasmanian state election was held on Friday,30 April 1909 in the Australian state of Tasmania to elect 30 members of the Tasmanian House of Assembly. In September 2017,Groom announced his retirement from politics,giving as a reason the negative impact politics has had on his family life. In August 2018 he was appointed to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
