Career
Schulze played as a youth for his hometown club, Stahl Riesa, before joining Dynamo Dresden at age 11. He eventually made it through to the first-team, and made three league appearances in the 1989–90 season as third choice 'keeper (behind Thomas Köhler and Ronny Teuber) as Dynamo won the DDR-Oberliga. He also played in the East German Cup final, a 3–0 win over Dynamo Schwerin which completed the double for Dresden.
Schulze spent the 1990–91 season on loan at Viktoria Frankfurt (Oder), and made 20 appearances as the side finished bottom of the NOFV-Oberliga. The league, which had been renamed after German reunification, was used to decide how East German teams would be placed in the unified league system, and Frankfurt's position saw them remain in the NOFV-Oberliga, which would now be at the third tier. Schulze returned to Dynamo Dresden, who had qualified for the Bundesliga, where he spent three years without making an appearance, before retiring in 1994.
Internationally, Schulze played for East Germany at youth level, and was considered for the Olympic team's qualification campaign for the 1992 tournament, before reunification brought an end to it. Following this, he won one cap for the Germany under-21 team in 1990.
The DDR-Oberliga was the top-level association football league in East Germany.

Torsten Gütschow is a German football manager and former player who played as a striker. He is most associated with Dynamo Dresden, with whom he had two successful spells, playing top level football in East Germany and after reunification. In between these he played for three other German clubs, and spent six months with Galatasaray of the Turkish Süper Lig. A strong and instinctive goalscorer, Gütschow was top scorer in each of the last three seasons of the DDR-Oberliga, and was the last East German Footballer of the Year. He won three international caps for East Germany, scoring two goals between 1984 and 1989. Since retiring he has taken up coaching, and has been manager of TuS Heeslingen.
Eduard "Ede" Geyer is a German former professional football player and manager. He was the last manager of the East Germany national team.
Rocco Milde is a German former professional footballer who played as a forward. Milde had a much-travelled career, but is best remembered as a Dynamo Dresden player, having had three separate spells with the club.

The 1989–90 DDR-Oberliga was the 41st season of the DDR-Oberliga, the first tier of league football in East Germany. It was the last season of the league under the name of DDR-Oberliga as it played as the NOFV-Oberliga in the following season. East Germany saw great political change during the 1989–90 season with the opening of borders in October 1989, free elections in March 1990 and the eventual German reunification later in the year.

Lenz had four different spells with BFC Dynamo during his professional playing career and has continued to serve as part of the club's backroom staff since retiring in 2008. Lenz played a total of 374 matches for BFC Dynamo between 1988 and 2008. He made two appearances for BFC Dynamo in the 1989-90 European Cup Winners' Cup.
Jürgen Bogs is a German football coach who led BFC Dynamo to ten consecutive DDR-Oberliga titles from 1979 to 1988. Bogs was a youth coach at BFC Dynamo before becoming the coach of the first team in 1977. The ten consecutive league titles won by BFC Dynamo under Bogs is an achievement that has never been matched by any other coach in European club football.
