Franziska Junge (born 1981 in Zschopau, East Germany) is a German actress for theatre, film, television as well as a singer.
She took screen-acting lessons with Jordan Beswick (New York) [1] and completed the master class for camera work "The Naked Face" with David Penn (London). Besides her work in film and television, Franziska Junge also acts in theatre. Claus Peymann brought her to the Berliner Ensemble while she was still studying in 2006. There Junge had the opportunity to realize a German premiere of the solo play "Kabarett der letzten Hoffnung" by Wladimir Alekseewic Klim (Klimenko) under the direction of Makedoniy Kiselev.[ citation needed ] She took part in the commissioned play "Pffft ... oder der letzte Tango am Telefon" [2] by George Tabori under the direction of Martin Wuttke, travelled around the world with the successful production of The Threepenny Opera under the direction of Robert Wilson and was allowed to take over the role of Lena in Leonce und Lena with music by Herbert Grönemeyer; also under the direction of Wilson.
From 2009 to 2017, she was a member of the ensemble at Schauspiel Frankfurt. [3] 2023 she started to take lessons with Ivana Chubbuck and Michael Monks at the Chubbuck Studio in Los Angeles and Berlin. Since June 2024 she is nominated for the Deutschen Schauspielpreis in the category Best Episodic Lead for her role in Notruf Hafenkante - Abschied.

The Berliner Ensemble is a German theatre company established by actress Helene Weigel and her husband, playwright Bertolt Brecht, in January 1949 in East Berlin. In the time after Brecht's exile, the company first worked at Wolfgang Langhoff's Deutsches Theater and in 1954 moved to the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm, built in 1892, that was open for the 1928 premiere of The Threepenny Opera.

Ignaz Kirchner was a German actor who made a career on German-speaking stages, especially at Vienna's Burgtheater where he played for 30 years. A character actor, he worked with leading stage directors. He often played opposite Gert Voss, both in classical drama such as Shakespeare's Antonio, with Voss as Shylock, and as Jago, with Voss as Othello, and especially in black comedies, such as Goldberg in Tabori's Die Goldberg-Variationen, and in Neil Simon's The Sunshine Boys, Beckett's Endspiel and Genet's Die Zofen. Kirchner and Voss were named Schauspielerpaar des Jahres twice, in 1992 and 1998.
Gerhard Klingenberg was an Austrian actor and stage director, and theatre manager. He was also involved in television productions as an actor, director, and scriptwriter. He was Intendant of the Burgtheater in Vienna from 1971 to 1976, and then of the Schauspielhaus Zürich from 1977 to 1982.
Peter Palitzsch was a German theatre director. He worked with Bertolt Brecht in his Berliner Ensemble from the beginning in 1949, and was in demand internationally as a representative of Brecht's ideas. He was a theatre manager at the Staatstheater Stuttgart and the Schauspiel Frankfurt. Many of his productions were invited to the Berliner Theatertreffen festival. He worked internationally from 1980.
Michaela Steiger is a German actress for theatre, film and television. Steiger was born in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and completed her acting training in New York with Susan Batson and Herbert Berghof. Her first permanent engagement was in Theater Basel where she worked under the direction of Frank Baumbauer with the directors Jossi Wieler, Andreas Kriegenburg, Frank Castorf and Barbara Frey. Then she moved to the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus from 1993 to 1996. She became a member of the ensemble of the Schaubühne in Berlin under director Thomas Ostermeier. Steiger had numerous guest engagements at the Hamburger Schauspielhaus, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Schauspielhaus Zürich and the Munich Kammerspiele. From 2011 to 2016 she was a member of the ensemble at the Residenztheater in Munich, where she worked with directors Martin Kušej, Katrine Wiedemann, Daniela Löffner and Bernhard Mikeska, among others. She has been associated with the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus since the 2016/17 season. She is also involved in various film and television productions.
