Piano Jazz is a weekly one-hour radio show produced and distributed by National Public Radio (NPR). It began on June 4, 1978, and was hosted by jazz pianist Marian McPartland (1918–2013) until 2011. Initially known for his work with the New York City-based hip hop collective Pro Era, he has since been known for producing in multiple genres including breakcore, ambient and noise music, releasing eight extended plays and two long plays since 2013, including the critically acclaimed Alternate/Endings. His debut studio album was released under the name Dedekind Cut. The entitled $uccessor, was released in November 2016.
